    This was really emotional because having my hands ‘tied’ behind my back is a huge no-no trigger for me (long story which I won’t go into) and also looking at floor and then falling onto neck/head is massive fear (after a bad fall years ago I quit pole for almost a decade).

    The first time I tried tonight, my husband stood in the room near the pole, but then he had to go to work – I really wanted to try again, because I looked at the film and it wasn’t right – but I was on my own in the house (apart from sleeping 4 year old). I still can’t believe I did it. I cried when I saw the VT, then did a victory CAR. Thank you for helping me break through my fears.

    Ahhh. So I’m going to give it another try tonight… however my attempts were… Interesting?!?! My best attempt was from the floor. Not quite kicking up, but sweeping the leg, almost like a cartwheel mount… That’s how we’ve practiced in class. But I really need to work on bringing both legs forward like in your tutorial! I’ll give it another try tonight if I can or just post what I did yesterday :/ we’ll see.

    Allyson, I call that a brass monkey mount, feels way different then the flag invert.

    Ahh, ok. I feel like my upper body is doing the same thing… Or at least trying to. Haha. I’ll give it another go tonight and see what happens!

    This floor move can strengthen hip flexors and abdominals…AND it’s fun!

    Try “walking” back and forth for a set time. Or perform 1-3 sets of 10-30 reps this includes both legs.

    You’ll see an option for prep work, if you can not yet hold or control your Iron X please use this option. The goal is learning to push through the palm of the bottom arm.

    Perform 1-3 sets of this prep from standing 6-18 reps BOTH sides

    Day 30- The Iron X. I knew I was nowhere near ready for this move, so I tried the alternate strength building clip. Then I thought, what if I stand on a bucket and try this, (I don’t have those wall bars). Let me tell you, it worked. May not look pretty, but it worked. So, here is my final submission and thank you so much for a very fun first challenge for me! I thought everyone did awesome!

    Day 30. Here is the most hilarious attempt at my extended butterfly trying to control it down through iron x. Watch it with the sound on to hear the big crash as my foot slams into the dresser and my jewelry box goes flying. I’m going to be black and blue!
