This months daily challenge is Back Arch March! #SVbackarch. This means back mobility is the name of the game! You will find a mix of Stretches, floor work, and Pole work that all utilize or improve back mobility. Don’t stress if you are not flexible, just do your best. Also don’t push, this is a lot of back bending so listen to your body. If you are not familiar with back bending check out my stretching lessons here before you start! https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view_category/stretching-exercises Remember this is a mix of levels and for the most part the month will become progressively challenging, working our way up to a full Bridge!

If you don’t use Instagram no worries, simply join in by uploading to the site! When uploading to studioveena be sure to use the term CHALLENGE in the title so the video will automatically be listed in with all of the challenges making them easy to find. Hey Veena!
Since this challenge is such a mix of beginner and advanced stretches and moves, what would you suggest for beginners to do on the days where advanced moves are asked for? Such as- what if I’m not able to do a Dragon’s Tail? What shall I do on day 11?
Not that I wouldn’t love to be able to do a Dragon’s tail 😉

Me to Runemist.. 😉 I actually tried my pole today on spinning. Lol I wish it didn’t spin so loosely so I can get used to it.

I don’t know what to tell ya, I’m not the tech person. You should get a notification in your email once the upload is processed, then you edit the video.

As far as advanced moves, I would like to post an alternative option in the clip but IG only allowing 17 secs and the fact that I’m working on something else big right now, makes me unsure I’ll have time for that. If I don’t have time, instead I suggest just working on and posting a move from the related section of the main video. For example, for Dragons tail do the Gemini or shooting star. I think you can see the related lessons even if you are not a paying member? I will also list an alternative “related” lesson. https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5468f819-cf9c-4329-a1b4-3bd70a9aa0eb

Good Suggestions Veena. For me (an intermediate) for something like dragons tail I’m just going to try and and get the leg hang with the hand behind my back. I don’t know if I’ll get the legs off the pole. We will see…

I think you can try that without inverting from Jasmine (Shooting star) you might be really low, depending on how high you can put your knee without inverting. 🙂

    Day 1 -Spinal Contraction 🌈 http://instagram.com/p/zqcI2zpAat/

🌈 I start every back bending session with these and while they look super easy, if you do them right, they are very effective! The key is NOT TO USE THE BUTT! Don’t squeeze the Glutes as you lift, focus on keeping them as relaxed as possible. Go slow!!!! 🐌The arms are relaxed as well for a full lesson please click here https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4dff4991-0b24-4269-80a0-26c90ac37250💜

    Day 2! 🌈 #SVbackarch – Knee Tuck.
    http://instagram.com/p/ztGDL_pAfQ/

Please check out my lesson https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4ddfb933-22f0-4762-b396-642a0ac37250💜 for full instruction. This can be a nice recovery position after back bending, but also a nice stretch on its own. Never pull on the legs with force to stretch more, this will strain the low back! Advanced stretchers can grab under the knee pit and lift the head for more intensity.

I cannot pole for some months cause of knee injury, but this should mostly be doable! yay! Thanks Veena, for unknowingly giving me motivation to do something at a time when training is super frustrating!
