Salad and Egg On My Face
Posted by wrinkletalk on May 17, 2012 at 2:33 amLisa Rinna has professed to using only natural ingredients for her beauty regimen; well, I've been doing just that for a few years now. My bathroom may resemble a kitchen at times, and my husband is always amused by the salads and oils that I slather on my face, but I am very happy with the results. I haven't really bought any cleansers or exfoliating masks and scrubs from a store for a few years now. I have had to unclog my drain on a regular basis though. And this I consider a small price to pay for healthy looking skin.

I love that! I dont only use natural yet, but I love making my own face masks. Its quite fun to just mix something and see how well it works. 2 things I always do all natural is nose strips and facemasks. The face mask, I have "invented" myself. (Its problably been used before, but I did'nt find the recipe online)
Mash half a banana in a bowl. 1 tea spoone of rough salt and squeze half a lemon into it. Mix it around. Heat it for 10 seconds till it becomes gooey put not burning hot, and put it on your face for 15 minutes. It not only clears up my skin, but because of the lemon,it also fades any acne scars I've had.
The nose strips I found on youtube. Just put a teaspone of unflavoured gelatine and a teaspone of milk in a glass. Mix it around and heat it for 30 seconds. Then quickly put it around your nose. 5 minutes later you can peel it of like regular nose strips, but at a much lower price and all natural.
The only downsize to the nose strips is that once its heatet, it smells like baby spit-up. I put some alovera cream in it, if I feel like I cant take the smell that day. And also remember to wash the glass after you have put it on your nose. It hardens fast, and is a pain to wash up your glass, when too late.
Just figured I'd share it with you 🙂

Have you ever tried cleansing your face with oatmeal? I take a small handful and wet it with some warm water, not wasting the liquid that drips from my hand either, I then rub it on my face in circular movements and, voila, I get the most wonderful results. My skin looks firm and radiant for the rest of the day.

I had never thought about that! 😀 I have actually been thinking about how to make my scrubs all natural. So I'll definately try that. I did once scrub my entire body and face in strawberrys that I just mashed with my hands. But that was kind of really expensive, so its something I concider a rare treat for when I really deserve it.

I am all about homemade facials! I have tons of recipes for just about everything! Oatmeal is definitely one of my faves along with almond meal =)

I would love to go all natural with all of my cleansing products but I can't find too many premade products that are not going to take from my dance budget. Please share more ricipies for making your own.
Honestly I think a huge part of my mild acne is that I use too many harsh chemicals on my face they work for a time then they quit working. I also have aweful dry skin these days because I am afraid of lotion and whatever bar is cheapest to wash with.
I have huge pores on my face and I hate them I don't get really bad breakouts but I have oily skin and a ton of ugly blackheads but I know it could be worse I broke out a lot more as a teenager and I still get some bad break outs but not nearly as often.
Steffie I am so going to try the nose strip and ninjchick do what kine of oatmeal do you use old fashioned stuff you have to cook or are the quick ones.
Thanks!

One more thing anything with eggs is great for me I have six chickens and always have extra eggs with it just being my hubby, myself and my dog eating them. I love my city chickens and it would be great if they could help provide me with one more thing to keep us living a more natrual lifestyle.

Hello Ladies! I got an excellent face treatment by accident. I was dressed as a harem dancer/joke for halloween and decided to put a beard under my veil. Knowing how sensitive my skin is, I made one by putting honey on my face and added folgers coffee crystals to make the wiskers. I wore it for hours and when I washed my face off, it felt amazing. It was soft and tight and very nicely colored too. I guess the coffee might not be 100% "natural" , but my skin loved it. 🙂
