SENSUAL =  the gratification or arousal of the senses; "animal instincts", "carnal pleasure", "fleshly desire"

When you watch someone dance, what qualities or characteristics stand out to you indicating that someone is comfortable expressing their sensuality?

How do you make dance a multi-sensory experience for yourself?

    Can you fake sensuality?

Um… I don't think you can fake sensuality…  It's kind of hard to explain but DeniseL canNOT for the life of her dance sensually.  It's just not her style.  I'm sure with much practice she could pull it off, but it might look disjointed and odd.

I think perhaps it's just the movements…  The way you make certain parts of your body do certain things at certain times… Or how you make more than just 1 part of your body do different things… OK I'm REALLY not making sense so I'm gonna stop lol.  It's just really hard for me to explain, probably really didn't even answer your question!

The first person that comes to mind with the word 'sensual' is Alethea Austin. She is definitely the reason I fell in love with pole. I believe the most sensual movements in pole are the tantalizingly slow ones. You can do any move fast, but the power and control you need to complete a move slowly is intense.

To make a dance a multi-sensory experience, I actually close my eyes for a little bit. Even if it's just a second, I can get lost in the music and the dance. It also allows me to breath haha which is extremely important. It's nice to just be alone and be yourself just dancing.

I'm not sure if you can fake sensuality. There are definitely things you can do to look sensual like arch your back or touch yourself, but to really feel something when you dance shows outwardly and the audience (or your camera) can see that. If you love what you do, and you're enjoying yourself it won't be fake! <33

I’m not sure if you can fake sensuality, but I do think its something that can be developed. When I first started pole, I was extremely intimidated by the whole sexy, touching my body thing. It took me awhile, but as my confidence grew, my sexiness started to come out. I really recommend finding some time to turn on the red light, light some candles and throw on some music you can get into and just let go.

Oh, and Keex…if you watch yourself, I think you will answer your own question. I find your style very sensual 🙂
