Pleasers tend to run small so I would go with an 8, especially if you are getting a closed toed shoe. I also recommend getting something with an ankle strap so you don’t lose your heels mid-dance. Pleasers are fun to dance in! They have a nice thick layer of cushion. I like to go to the Pleaser website and pick out the model I would like, then enter that model into a Google shopping search to find the best price. Have fun shoe shopping! 🙂

I usually recommend buying a size down for dance shoes (be it pole shoes or other dance shoes). You want them to fit snugly, but not tight.  I'm an 8 .5 and love my Pleaser size 8 shoes.

If you see shoes online that you like, I always recommend going to a store like Lover's Lane to just try on a pair of that brand there (Pleaser, Ellie, etc.). That way you can get a feel for the sizing. Then go back online and order them.

Just like to add: I only own one pair of pole heels, basic black ankle strap KISS 709 pleasers. I usually wear a 7.5, or sometimes an 8. I bought a 7 and they’re way too small. My toes hang out over the edge. I can’t even do any floorwork that involves rolling over the toe (so basically everything) in them because it feels like I’m going to bash off my toenails.

I suggest going to an adult/clubwear store so you can try on a shoe of the same brand you’re intending to buy to see if it fits you. Or if you’re definitely buying sight unseen online, make sure there’s a good returns policy and leave yourself the time to do the returns if you need them. I really wish I’d bought the 8s!

I agree with PDR, I'm a 7.5 and in pleasers like an 8 as they run a tish small. Ellies, I like a 7 and penthouse I like a 7.

I work at a lingerie and dance store and find that most of the time I have to bump girls who wear a half size up to the next full size in both Pleaser and Ellie.  If your shoes fit correctly you heel will be flush with the back, that is to say that you heel should sit in line with the back of the shoe.

Keep in mind that the open toe shoes that have a clear plastic top will often times be much too tight when you first buy them.  You can use a hair dryer to heat  the plastic up, when it is a comfortable temperature you can slide your foot into it and the plastic will stretch and then mold to the shape of your foot.

I prefer Pleaser to Ellie as I have a long narrow foot.  Girls who tend to like the shape of the Ellie shoes have a bit of a wider foot and less of an arch.

    Hi! =0)

I suggest that you get a size up. I wear a size 8.5 and bought my Pleasers in a size 9. However, my toes tend to hang out of them (they are open toes), so I concluded that I might need a 9.5. =0)

My favorite dance heels are Pleasers. I wear 8.5 in street shoes. In Pleasers I get 8 for open toe shoes and 9 for closed toe shoes. I size down for open toe shoes so when the vamp stretches out I can still wear them. I also like how their shoes are balanced and feel the heels are stable. I prefer shoes with straps… mules can fall (or fly) off and that's something I don't want to worry about.

Google lingerie/adult shops in your area and call first to see if they carry shoes or look on their website. If you shop online, find a retailer that would accept the shoe as a return if it did not fit.

You will find what works best for you but it can take a bit of trial and error. Especially for those of us that are half sizes. I buy a lot of my shoes from snaz75.com… they have a lot of facebook promos like 30% off entire order etc.

Good luck!!! Shoes are SO addicitive and fun.

I love Pleasers too! I went a size up because I just prefer not to have my toes hang over the end. I would recommend trying on different styles however because even different styles from the same manufacturer fit differently. I have the Pleasers with the wide clear toe straps that seem to fit tighter around the fronts of my feet. The Pleasers with the solid narrower straps are too lose : (. I have shoes with ankle straps and without. If I plan to do a lot of inverts or just worried about my shoes flying off, I just use some ribbon to tie them around my ankles, but they fir pretty snuggly, so I’ve only done that a couple of times. Try them on in the store and then research online for the best deal. Have fun!

If your toes hang over the end, chances are you bought your shoes too big rather than small, which seems counter intuitive. 🙂  This happens when the plastic stretches out  on mule type shoes and more rarely with shoes that have a plastic ankle strap. This is more of a problem with clear plastic than the colored plastics.

For those who love mule shoes while they dance but don't want to worry about them flying off, trying the Pleaser Springolator.  It's amazing!! There aren't very many styles in it yet, just two and they are both clear plastic, one with a clear platform and the other with a mirror chanbered platform.  They have a sole that is springloaded to hug your foot even when you take pressure off the shoe.

Your first shoes for dancing, I would get something with an ankle strap.  It seriously makes a difference.  I have two pairs of slides, a pair of close-toed shoes with an ankle strap.  I feel much more secure with the latter.  Here are a couple I like:

I hope the links work, cuz I pulled them from my amazon wish list. ha ha

My first pair of shoes are a pair of Pleasers with clear ankle straps and I love them! They're very comfortable and supportive, even with 7" stilettos lol. I'm a size 6 US and I actually went a size up to a 7 because the pair I tried felt tight, but I guess they're supposed to be kind of snug. It seemed to be an oddity with that specific pair though because all the other Pleasers I tried in 6 fit just fine.

Something to maybe think about to, though it may not matter if you are already comfortable in heels, is maybe consider a boot. I have found that fit can be easier to get right for me in boots and the ankle support can be helpful. However they can be more expensive and are a different feel when poling since the boots themselves can provide grip on the pole. But they are so dang sexy!

Does anyone know how the Tony shoes compare with the Pleaser and the Ellie?
