  • Should I buy this defected poledanzer.com brass pole?

Issue #1: The company is well reputed yet somehow messed up their recent batch and their brass poles have a “cosmetic defect” but they state that the poles are still fully functional. I looked at the photo they provided and it looks to me like a chipped off area?? They are offering a $100 discount but the warranty will not cover the defect. It’s Xmas tomorrow so I can’t call them to ask further questions and don’t trust that a rep from their company is going to tell me the 100% truth when it’s their goal to get rid of this defected batch asap. (On the site they have not stated what kind of defect it is officially) Idk but I was wondering if anyone can identify the damage and if it means that it will only lead to immediate tarnishing/rust issues?

Issue #2: I am allergic to Nickel. Do brass poles have a ton on nickel in them? Anyone have bad reactions to brass?

Thanks for any help! I am new to pole dancing so I just want to make sure I get it right the first time before purchasing.

They’ve had that notice up on their site for over a year so don’t feel like the “limited time” means you have to decide right away.
Brass varies by manufacturer. Mostly it’s copper/zinc, but there are so many varieties of brass with other metals added to it. I’m not sure what poledanzer’s alloy is, but it may or may not contain nickel. All that being said, I have a nickel allergy, and I am also allergic to all the brass poles I’ve been on. I break out in hives. But I’m allergic to everything…
so it is possible, but I haven’t heard of many people with that issue.
I would try to find someone else who has a brass pole in your area and give it a try before committing.

I’ve gotten poles from LM and XP with surface defects for a discount. Totally worth it in my opinion. I have not had problems with either.

I don’t know enough about poles to comment on the defect but my studio has brass Pole Danzer poles and I like them. They have much better grip than my stainless steel pole at home.

Whether you will react to a brass pole will be your personal experience. I am allergic to nickle and I have no problems on my PS brass and x pole brass.
Keep in mind that the removable poles/ brass poles s from Pole Danzer ONLY come in 50mm.

we have the poledanzer “defected” brass in our studio (which were ordered and installed almost 2 years ago) no problems. There are small imperfections but they do not effect use.

I bought this very pole and I can’t even find where the finish is supposed to be defective! It’s super grippy and spin mode is so fast and flawless you have to be careful not to fly out the window. Very solid mounts too, and also it’s a mom and pop shop with excellent customer service. My only complaint is had I known better I’d have preferred a 45 mom but at the time they just had 50mm. But it’s permanently mounted into concrete so it’s staying put lol…have no fears about buying this pole in terms of quality though, it’s great.

I’m allergic to nickel but I’m fine with X-pole brass.

The people at PoleDanzer are awesome =} I bought my brass pole from them in Fall of 2007 and LOVE it! I’m lucky enough to live near them and even had them come help me with an installation issue (the problem was my location, NOT any manufacturing defect) He actually custom made a piece for me at no additional cost to me.
