  • Should I perform?

    Hey everyone!
Ok, I’ve decided to go to Sarah Jade’s Bad to the Chrome pole camp in March!! I’m really excited for this camp because of what I’ve seen from past camps. Her focus is more on sexy tricks and flexibility, and the camp isn’t trick heavy!
She is doing something a little different for this one and is holding a rock n roll showcase performance that Friday or Saturday of the camp. It’s optional to perform, but I’ve always wanted to.
I honestly don’t even know where to begin with making a routine. Im terrified that i will slip on the pole as i sweat a lot when I pole.
    .

I know that I’m good at twerking but it’s a rock n roll theme.. I don’t even know if I can twerk to rock.. although it’s my favorite genre.
I even thought about doing a chair dance instead of pole just to get my feet wet with being in front of an audience..

I guess I’m really looking for encouragement/suggestions/ideas/planning tips/your experiences etc.
I know all the ladies will be super supportive and it will only be about 15 of us.. and I know it’s not a competition.. but, it’s still a HUGE deal for me.

I appreciate any and all feedback ❤️❤️❤️

do it! and yes veena is right, you could twerk to anything. seriously. I sweat alot too and it is a big problem for me especially in a performance situation. I recently started using tite grip. I start using it 2 hours before my performance and then reapply every 30 minutes up until the routine. right before I get on stage I use dry hands. I know it sounds like a lot but it seriously works for me and it only takes a small amount for each application. or try mighty grip gloves. when all else fails I use my gloves with the non-tacky finish for static pole or the tacky finish for spinny pole. try them out before hand and see what works for you. also sometimes I will have to make a last minute switch- if my gloves are hindering and not helping I use the tite grip and dry hands or vice versa. you just got to try them out and know how your body reacts to them. if youre nervous about getting on the pole you can do an emphasis on floorwork, booty stuff and do some simpler combos on the pole. things you are confident you can do. I think once you do this performance you will just love the feeling of performing for an audience. you deserve and audience!!!

Seriously you could twerk to anything. That twerk needs to be shared. Especially with a camp of pole dancers 🙂

Yes!! If I was choreographing you I would have you walk on all demure and do a very perfect, floating arms pointing toes, graceful slow typical pole dance walk pirouette and simple pole spin and dip to a slow, moody emo rock intro. Then drop squat and TWERK THE HELL of it as the music CRASHES into fast BADASS tempo. Seriously you would blow the roof off. You have amazing skills.

    DOOOOOOOOO ITTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!

You will screw up. It will not be perfect. You will hype yourself out. You will wonder WHY the hell you have not done it sooner. You will look for the next opportunity.

As you know there are a ton of threads on here about choreographing. Look through them and plan your attack. The hardest part will be picking your song.

    Oh, and tape that shit!

Sarah Jade is awesome!!! I really wish I could do that camp abd the Fly Gym trainer certification camp. I think you should definitely perform! As Chem said, Utah you will be nervous and might need up but remember, the audience does not know what you are planning to do so if you need up a little just play it off like you meant to do it and they probably won’t even notice. Yes TWERK it!!! You can twerk to just about anything! There is that rock version of Lollipop or eve. That sick beat in Bloodsugarsexmagik by the RHCP. You could do a real slow slinky twerk after doing some flirty heel dragging moves lol!

thank you ladies so much- with your encouragement, I’m gonna do it!!!
I think I might buy a pair of pole uggs (I’ve been wanting a pair since they came out) to wear for the performance.
I would love to wear heels, but I think since it’s my first time performing i want to have one less thing to worry about– in addition, with the boots i will really be able to get down and *dirty* with some booty bouncing.

I love that song you suggested Tropical Vertical.- it’s on my list now. It’s going to be hard to narrow them down.
