I hurt my shoulder pretty badly doing too many inverts and just doing too much pole in general–what are some good things to do for a shoulder injury and how long until I can go back on the pole?

Depends on what you did. Consult a medical professional first. I ripped my rotator cuff because I wasn’t ready for inverts. When you know what’s wrong, only then can you start recovery. In your downtime work only on abs, and when you feel you’re ready to try inverting again, wait an extra 2 weeks and do should strength training. I haven’t had any shoulder pain since my core/shoulder training.

It is impossible for us to give you tips for recovery without knowing what's wrong with your shoulder. Shoulders are a tricky body part. What helps for one kind of injury can worsen another one. It's best to go see a doctor – or if you want to take the risk of reinjuring it when going back to pole, rest it until the pain goes away. And then rest some more 😉

Yes, you need to see a Dr. and REST! Then once your better start  back into pole by doing conditioning for the shoulders. Feel better soon!https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
