The Prince's isn't the Veena grip at least that's not what it was a few yrs ago!! The hand is behind like the cup grip, but extended.  You can't get into the super invert with out your shoulder…but rather you HOLD it. Here's a link……At 1:12 You'll see I'm not using my shoulder at all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DV9hkblfy3E

To clarify….Princess grip the shoulder you mount on has the arm behind and fully extended, but not twisted…at least that is what I know of the Princess grip. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Oh I can't see the video!  It's blocked in Germany… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif  I think I know this video, though.  You have it in your video list on here right?

This is the video where I saw the double thumbs up grip, around 1:00: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pzjTGfw_4o

While we're on the topic of grips, I was taught that Chinese grip is the same as the true grip (which made sense once I realized "Chinese" was from "Chinese pole")- top hand thumbs down. Usually if you're upright the bottom hand is thumbs up, but if you're in an inversion, it's often thumbs down.

Oh, and I feel the need to mention that the person who misinformed me about using the Veena grip for shouldermount flips was *not* Veena, or anyone else on this website.

Thanks, Ewa Tran, for the tips. I am not giving up on Cup grip. Will keep at it and work on changing my placement to find the right balance : )

Good subject because i always did sm the wrong way, I do cup grip but my hands or switch, anyway it work so i'm good. But i want to work on superman to sm and stuff like that, i bet it's more easy with one arms extended. I did try the claw grip (not bad but not pretty lol) and i think i'm gonna give it a try with Veena's grip, look safe to try super invert.

The forward/Chinese grip I described is the one in the video Elektra linked. I really don't know the technical name for it, I usualyly just call it a forward grip but I've seen it called a Chinese grip. You can see me do a whole bunch of them here at :25 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXZp-MWXN-s

So.. is that a Chinese grip or not? LOL. I just have a miniature heart attack every time I see someone doing cup grip, I don't know. Not for me.

Generally I use that grip if I'm mounting up and the Veena grip if I'm dismounting.

It seems one could also invent their own grip so don’t worry if you have your hands switched, Tiggertail. I had no idea I was not using the right hand placement and have thought I was using the veena grip all along. I am just a lost pole dancer… Haha!
