    Hey guys 🙂

I can only do a shoulder mount at the beginning of a practice session because I get too sweaty! I usually do a cup grip and my shoulder can’t get any grip at all so it’s all in my hands.

Any tips for how to deal with this??

You could always use a grip aid on your shoulder (some of them also work well when out on the pole itself), and personally I just wash my sweaty bits before trying a move again.
It can get pretty frustrating in the middle of a routine or something, but for those cases, I would say grip aid 😉

Along with trying a grip aid (no waxy grip aids!!) make sure you have your hair up!

Yup…grip aids! I have this problem, too. I usually put a bit of grip aid on my shoulder and a bit on the pole. I usually use dry hands for this, although I’m finding hairspray gives my skin a nice tacky feeling, too. Also, to add to what Veena said about hair, make sure that the day you pole you don’t put any mousses/conditioners in your hair…nothing that could get on your shoulders and make them slippery. I was having a hell of a time shoulder mounting last year because of the sunscreen I was using, too!
