Shoulder-mount-to-Superman tips?
When I was first learning the Superman, at a certain point I realized the hip-flip from a leg hang/Jasmine was easier for me than doing it straight from a shoulder mount, so that’s the only way I’ve gotten into it for a long time. Recently I tried going into a Superman from a shoulder mount – and I ended up going shoulder mount –> leg hang –> Jasmine –> Superman! Apparently I’m having troubles with this.
Weird thing is, I can shoulder mount into a death lay… but shoulder mounting into a regular old Superman perplexes me. I think bracing my legs against the ceiling maybe gives me a greater sense of security when I shoulder mount into a death lay, and during the hip-flip-to-Superman I already have my top hand on the pole, which also gives me a sense of security. When I don’t have either of those things my body seems to freak out and I end up going into a leg hang first so I can have my top hand on the pole when I go into Superman.
I don’t know, anyone else have this problem or have any advice for how to get over this?
