    Hey everyone!
    So, I’ve been trying to get a few moves that require some side grip, either under the arm pit, or along the torso. I have a fairly short torso (especially in comparison to my legs) and large hips, so there isn’t a lot of room!
    I’m curious… could my bra, and especially my sports bra, be getting in my way? I’ve seen so many ladies to moves like the scorpio/gemini with just their waist exposed, but their torsos seem to be in different positions than mine. There’s much more of a backbend kind of thing going on for them (getting the pole into their waist, just above the hip), leaving the side of the chest away from the pole. Ladies also seem to have a lot more back in contact with the pole when doing a teddy hold, and because my hips are so large and my torso so short, I don’t seem to have much actually ON the pole, other than that which is covered by a shirt or a sports bra.
    I, however, don’t really have that much space between side-of-chest and the top of my hip. Like… an inch. Literally, an inch from hip to ribs.
    So, should I be trying to take this into account, perhaps dancing in something (sigh) skimpier? Heck if I know how I’m gonna keep the boobs in line if I do that, but… if I need to learn, I’d rather be learning now!

    I can’t comment on the extra boob part (I barely have any) but I also suffer from the ridiculously short mid section with less then an inch between my ribs and hips. So far I have not had issues getting moves as a result of that. But I do know that sometimes pole is about finding a way that move works for your body. I was told by my instructor that in a teddy I needed to grip with my lower back but I find its way easier for me to grip with my back right under my sports bra and arm pit.
    I bet you will figure it out!

    Runemist, are you wearing a tank top when you do Gemini or teddy? I found that I absolutely could not do those moves with a tank top on, even if I tucked my shirt under my bra. I have to wear a sports bra like top and its even better if my top is cut in a way that exposes lots of armpit and back. some of the fuller cut tops that really cover my back and pits just don’t work for me. I see girls invert with tank tops on and I don’t know how the hell they do it except that they are crazy stronger than me. haha! For Gemini, I really need the back of my armpit exposed. maybe a racerback top is good for that. For the teddy, its the armpit/bicep that hold me and a little of my lower back. I have to REALLY tuck my big butt under so that my back will touch the pole. I mean really curl my butt under like a shrimp! if you have big hips, use them to hold that teddy! 🙂 pull your shorts down a little bit in the back and use that skin to stick. DAmnit! we need pole tops for us big boobed girls! 🙂

    Low-cut shorts (if you con’t have any, you can try folding the top down) and a shirt and/or sports bra with big armholes, aka much skin exposure in the armpit and shoulderblade area, will certainly help. Too much fabric is your enemy, when doing these moves 🙁
    I don’t want to seem like a perv, but you could also try it naked, to see if it works when there is no chance for clothing to get in the way – and work your way up to wearing a top again. I would only advise doing this at home, though ^^ – and only when doing the Teddy, NOT the Gemini, as it is probably better not to get your privates on the pole 😉

    i can only pole in really short & low waisted shorts & string bikini tops. any more fabric than that get in my way. i like the brazilian shorts from pole fit by bad kitty.

    Unfortunately, ladies, I cannot find any kind of proper pole wear that would actually fit me, and meet these requirements 😉 I have a bikini I could wear, but I’m not sure how well it’ll be keeping the girls in (especially if I’m upside down), and most sports bras (or, bras in general) made for my size look like they should be made of iron and scaffolding. Not exactly the best when you’re looking for something with large arm-holes!
    I could fold my current shorts down, certainly, but… I might have to look around, and perhaps even tape myself into something… oh well, I’ll figure it out!
    Also, Lilredrobinhood, I do actually tuck really hard when I’m doing a teddy hold, but it actually brings my lower back away from the pole! I’ve been thinking I might have to tuck a little less, or find some way of exposing/using a different part of my back 😉

    Rune. I first got the teddy not by holding with my back but by pulling my shorts down and using my butt cheek. It might give you somewhere to start.

    Hmm! Butt grip… I’ve never considered that! Very interesting 😉
