Silk hammock? Fly gym? Advice for pole room!
Hello ladies! (and dudes)
Been out of pole for 2 months and probably gonna be out for another 2-3, as I need knee surgery and can barely walk atm. Unfun.
I recently bought a flat, and will be moving in soon. I will finally have my very own pole room! So even if I cannot use it for a while, I definitely wanna prepare it nice and cozy for when I can (imagine preparing a room for the baby when you’re pregnant, except my baby is 2 meters and a half of chrome and I thankfully do not need to give birth to it).
Apart from my x-pole, I wanna put some mirrors, a barre to help with stretching, maybe wall bars if I find affordable and nice ones. Other cool stuff you guys can think of? Do you have anything in your pole space that makes you smile every single time?
Now for the other thing: I have done 2 workshops of aerial yoga. It was basically yoga using a silk hammock. I fell in love. I loved the feeling of being able to hang and pull myself up and around on something that moves (unlike a pole), and I loved how the hammock can be used for stretching. I was looking a bit online, and also found the fly gym. Now, from people who have or the other (or maybe both!)… what are your experiences/opinions. Is the rigging the same? Can I get one and then also use the other on the same hooks? I see the Fly Gym has a piece that looks a bit like a hammock, but it’s tube-shaped and a lot less wide if I understand correctly. Would this replace a hammock? Tbh I enjoyed also just using it as a hammock, lying in it… I guess with the Fly Gym this is not possible, right?
And… my ceilings are gonna be standard ceilings… so around 262cm high. It’s a new building so for sure I can put the hooks so they will hold, but… Is 262cm enough for hammock/fly gym? I guess so if people have them in their homes, but just making sure…
