Can someone explain the difference between a single or double tab lrya? Is one better then the other?
I’ve tried both before but still to green to notice what is the difference.

Anchor points. A single tab only has 1 anchor point to the rigging while a double tab has 2. There’s a variety of tricks and poses that can differ between the two. Double tab can incorporate more trapeze like poses due to the space created by the 2 anchor points attached to the rigging.

Thank you! I’m fairly new to this. But would it be safe to say you can do all the tricks from a one tab to a double plus more? I’m debating on which one to purchase and don’t want to limit myself. So far it sounds like I should get the double.

I recommend trying both out a little more before you make a decision. I personally prefer the single tab, but lots of others prefer the double. I like the easy clearance with single tab, both in doing top bar tricks, and for hand placement.

It would also depend on your rigging setup. I chose the single tab because initially I had my rigging at my old house with standard ceiling height. The double point would have taken up more space and prevented me from hanging my hoop at an adequate height. If rigging is versatile and you’re not sacrificing height, you may like the double point better due to being able to do a little more with it.

I am planning to get the A Frame from XPole. So either single or double would work. I just don’t know which to get. Especially since the Lyra is costly I don’t want to pick the wrong one.

Yayo i read on here you can make a double tab into a single tab, if you got a double tab you can hang it with one tab making it into single tab. I’m not sure on how that would work with tricks, if I ever get a Lyra I’m going to get a double tab.

if you are ummhing and aahhing between the two go for the double tab, because then you can use it as a single or double =)
personally I don’t find the extra tab gets in the way too much for tricks, i prefer to hang mine double cos it feels a bit more stable and i like doing tricks at the top of the hoop, but i have hung it single point when i didn’t have much space (yeah it does need more height for double hanging which sucks haha, if i stand next to my hoop with double straps its the same height as me!) and single point is usually better for spin, but i like spinning on double too so yeah double is just more versatile in my opinion =)

Thank you everyone!! I’m hanging this from an A Frame from XPole. So I can use either or. Didn’t know you can hang single or double but that’s a good option too. I signed up at this studio that has double tabs so I can try it out. I have tried single. It seems to spin a lot and lite weight. The purpose for me is to train and get better at it as another way to build my strength.
