Does anyone get really red and bruised inbetween your thighs after doing sitting types of moves on the pole? Even if I am very warmed up and the pole is after 2-3 moves my inner thighs are beet red and I have even got instant bruises after doing inverted Crucfixs. The pain is also driving me from not even doing them! I have tried using lotions (recommend on here not to be greasy) and have tried doing the move slightly different on my thighs (but that is kind of hard to do when inbetween moves LOL!) Does it sound like I am doing it wrong or something else? My thighs are very flabby… not tone in the least and I was thinking it was because of that and nothing I could do about it.https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

Yes and with time it will go away.  This is just one of the things we learn to bear when it comes to pole.

They go away once you become more comfortable with a move. I remember how much teddies used to hurt! It's one of those things you have to bite through and let our bodies become accustomed to.

I don't see how lotions would help with the pain. 🙁

Maybe an analgesic cream would help, like Bengay or Tylenol Precise? But then you wouldn't be able to keep working on it while using the cream… I know I am a total wimp about that pain too and I've been avoiding pole sits which I know won't help.

So far I have been working more on flexibility, which is sometimes more painful but it seems like a pain I can manage. With stretching I notice that I've been starting to enjoy the moderate levels of pain–that "good stretch" feeling.  I wish that would happen with pole sits!

Darling Dearest is right. The more you do the move, the more comfortable you are with it and especially the more muscles you build while doing it, so redness and bruises will appear less. The inner thighs are one of the softest parts in the body and have the least muscles in them (in other words there's naturally more fat in them), so they get bruised easily. My legs are bruised so badly that my mom has tried to stop me from poling and my husband commented "pls don't hurt yourself girl, otherwise people would think that I've beaten you" lol. Anyway, I've tried many kinds of lotion but none of them helped at all. There're some tips I've found very helpful though: 1) Do the exercises that build muscles in the inner thighs. 2) Walk, jog, run more or do any cardio exercises to keep your heart rate up. This is Felix Cane's tip. Bruises go away faster if your blood circulates well. 3) Practice the move over and over again.

Bruises are natural for pole dancing and I'm so proud of them that I always wear shorts when I get a chance. ^^

    Btw, hope all these help.
