I have been working on my layabk quite a lot lately.  Sometimes I can do a layback with no problem, sometimes I am sliding halfway down the pole before I can even begin to actually layback.  Has anyone else had a sliding problem while doing this?  I'm gripping with my thighs and still plummeting down the pole 🙁

I have that problem too when I sweat. For me, iTac solved it.

I've usually found it is related to a slippery spot on the pole from another sweaty body part.

Veena, it is like cross ankle release except that you actually have your right leg crossed over your left and are holding on to your right ankle when you lay back

Ok, Asutnrgirl. Are you bring the legs up to the pole first as you're dropping the hips down, THEN laying back? Sometimes we rush into the layback and this will cause you to slip. Also during all laybacks you'll want to really squeeze the butt.

Here is the lesson if you're interested. I show you how to work on this from the floor too, so you could give that a try if you haven't already. https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4caf25bf-69d8-4029-94d5-42540ac37250
