I just got the Mipole and its very slippery, I use dry hands which works well at Pole Class, since my instructor use brass pole. But now Im home and its so slippery, any tips. I have been using alcohol. I heard we just have to get use to it?

Try sprit ing the pole with vinegar. Chrome is much slicker, so you are definitely going to have to get used to it.

I have never heard of that pole before? Are they new?? I saw their site, but that was all I could find.

By vinegar, I mean distilled white vinegar (the stuff you clean with.) you might want to diluted it a little.

Are you fairly new to pole? Developing cauloses helps a lot. I slip les when I have more rouch hands. Work on grip exercises to strengthen your grip. I got some hand exerciser balls for when I am sitting on the couch. I have sweaty hands and I gave up on the regular grip aids. I found that the vinegar and developing grip strength and cauloses works best so you can go from pole to pole is best. You WILL get used to the metal. If you are used to brass, the chrome will be as hock. Also, chrome take a lot longer to warm up than brass. The chrome is stickier when it is warm, FYI. Kepp that it mind. Touch it and spi on it when it is cold, then after you have been playing on it for a while, you'll notice it getting grippier and warmer.

Sensuals, what do you do with the excercise balls? What do you mean by hock?

sorry  I meant it will come as a shock.  Plenty of practice should be what you need. I just squeeze the exercse balls, but they come with exercises, and there might be some exercises online. Gripping the balls is all you need because it is your grip that needs to be strong.

I have sweting hands too–I gave up on grip aids, and now buy items geared towards antiperspirants….BIG difference! Nothing makes the sweating worse than having an instructor watching me try a new move…kwim?

I gave up on grip aids too. They wipe off very fast, and I sweat them off really quickly (even dry hands.) I just do lots of wiping and keep a fan on my and my pole at all times (fanning my hands dry often helps too.)
