Okay… I have 2 poles from Platinum Stages…. One is 1.75 and the other is 2" ~ Both are stainless, both are spin/static, same length, exact same pole except for the diameter. I clean them both the same way and they are in the same location, but the 1.75 is super slippery https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif How could 2 poles from the same manufacturer be so different? It’s almost like there is a ‘coating’ or something on the pole…. Hmmmm…

Did you buy them both at the same time? It could have to do with however the stainless was finished and polished at the time of manufacturing.

That’s weird. But I also have a PS pole (2") that’s incredibly slippery. It’s the older model with the adjuster on top.

Like chemgoddess said ~ It probably has something to do with the polishing of the stainless when the pole was made. My (permanently mounted) 2" is fine. My star stand alone (1.75) and my other permanently mounted 1.75 are both really slippery. Guess I’ll have to break down and use some grip enhancer!

Sadly not all PS poles are created equally. I bought 4 of the old ones a few years ago and there was a distinct difference between poles, there was one in particular that was just ALWAYS slippery no matter what we did.

PS has quality control issues from one pole to another. My SSA is a POS. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I hate to say anything negative but this company has gotten on my last nerve. Too bad X-pole doesn’t make a ss pole.

I’m not happy with my ssa either! According to their website, they have come up with a "thicker shaft base for improved stability" Wonder if they’ll replace our current poles/bases with the new ones https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I highly doubt it, but I’m gonna call and ask anyway. My ssa pole leans so bad and is so unstable, I’m embarrassed to take in out in public for demos!

I have S.S. P.S. Pole and it is super slippery!!! I have so much trouble working with it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
It is the only pole I have. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
At this time I am unable to use it due to damage it caused to the ceiling. My husband will not allow it to be put back up in the house. I am currently working on getting a stage. I have not decided on what type of stage to get.
I hear the X=stage Lite is out and this would work great for me, however I have never used chrome.
My hands are super sweaty as well so some are saying Brass is the way to go. The only company I know of that makes a Brass stage is P.S. Is that true?
