    Hey Everyone,
I’m fairly new to pole dancing and I’m so frustrated because I spent money on a pole that I can’t do any tricks on because it’s so slippery. I have the chrome 50mm xpert xpole. I’ve tried mighty grip and that stuff is awful. Im so annoyed. I feel like I should be able to do more by now. I cant even climb the pole and sit there without slipping. If anyone has similar problems or suggestions I’d love to hear from you. I hate to say this but maybe I need a different pole. Ugh!!!

    Help!

Make sure you are really warm. I have the same pole and it’s really important to warm up for a good 15-20 mins. I just dance around in sweats to a few songs and do elbowstands to get my core temp up. Don’t be discouraged! If you get you and your pole super warm you’ll have great grip in no time! I would try the warm up without grip aid first to see if it works. And I mean REALLY warmed up!

If your hands are sweating: a lot of girls either a) spray distilled vinegar (cleaning isle of grocery store) on their hands to stop the sweating or b) use tite grip, dry hands, or other similar anti persperant grip aide on their hands (order online.) Wipe your hands and the pole ften. Also keep a fan nearby so you can air dry your hands.

If your body is not sticking: a) go get some corn huskers lotion (walmart) and glob it on your body, b) if that doesn't work: iTac and are commonly used ( feels like corn huskers lotion to me though.) Those all need to be purchsed online, so start with corn huskers lotion. 🙂

It is realy important that you moisturize everyday. Dry skin doesn't stick to the pole. Get some "vaseline: totalmoisture conditioning" lotion and put it on your body every night after showering. That should help. It is glycerine based so it won't make you greasy…it actually makes you a little stcky initially. 🙂

I have to second Sashamae's advice. I was so frustrated recently, same issues, slippage, not sticking, feeling like I couldn't even nail "the basics". Turns out, it was ALL a matter of warmth. I was warming my BODY up, but then trying to work with a room temperature (under 70 degrees) pole. Now, I warm up WITH the pole, and its made an incredible difference. Hold, climb, even FINALLY the sit. Even spins, it felt I had to cut them so short because I was going down so fast, now I can really gliiiiide around the pole. This one small tip pushed me from saying "What if I really CAN'T do this?!?!" (and I am NOT a can't person lol) to saying "Oh yeah, I can TOTALLY do this. Look at me! *tags the ceiling*"

And I do have the same pole as you, the chrome 50 mm xpert. I don't have overly dry skin, but I don't sweat a lot either. I also have trouble when I overthink things.
