So I just started back up on my pole after graduating from school, having a small injury from a pole hold I believe I strained my forearm when attempting (argh!) and starting a new job on the labor and delivery unit. I am now focused and determined to getting back into pole mode. I have started also started re-doing the 30 day take-off 🙂 and my pole is slippery! I wipe it off and within 5 minutes I am slipping. Any suggestions as to what can help??? Thanks guys 🙂

Sounds like you need a grip aid. They are not all equal, so you need to figure out why you’re slipping. If you are sweaty, I think Veena suggests using “Dirty Girl” on hands, legs, and pole. If you are cold and dry like me, I have to use iTac, or Veena’s secret blend of Mighty Grip plus .
There are other threads that address grips on this Discussion site, so cursor down. Hope that helps! (I was just about ready to give up, until I met iTac, lol!)

You could try a few things. First steaming your pole, this will get it really clean and can be helpful if its a newer pole. If you’re pole area is cold, this will also warm up the pole nicely so you can grip it.

If you find you slip because you can’t warm up enough or have cool legs and a cool pole, try a grip aid mix I like to use during winter. Please note, this is NOT for sweaty hands for sweaty issues try using Dirty Girl Poltice.

I have cold, slippery pole issues too and even after steaming, I’m still slip-sliding all over the place. I don’t have easy access to grip aids for my sweat-factory hands, so I tried a cleaning method using Bar Keepers Friend…a polisher for stainless steel, glass, and whole host of other things. It really cleaned my pole better than anything and made my sweaty hands actually grip BETTER.

Since BKF is made for metals, I figured it would be safe and it has been for me (though I did a test patch way at the bottom before proceeding with the entire pole.) I don’t have any idea how it would behave on anything other than chrome, so if you decide to give this a try, please test in an inconspicuous area first before doing your whole pole in case there’s some result you’re not happy with. My bestie used Bon Ami on her xpole chrome pole with results consistent with mine.

Once I get my grip aids, I will update on how the grip aids plus BKF-cleaned pole work together for sweaty hands.
