Well I bought some shoes and a membership so far …..and I watched a kagillian vidoes and lessons ….. Everyone is so inspiring and suppotive of each other : D
After much research ,
I am about to buy my pole !
Definitely a 45 mm xpole.
But I can’t decide what finish … Chrome seems to be winning at this point …. I live in the north east so it’s hot and humid in the summer and bitter cold in winter if that matters… Maybe titanium gold???
Somebody help me decide ! I want to order it today but I don’t want to screw up! -
I am a newbie too. I have been poling for almost one month. It is a slow process building strength, but once we get there we will be AWESOME! Studio Veena has been the best place to be. The Veeners here are overly supportive even when you are having a bad day.
I bought a 45mm – Chrome to start with. I don’t plan on competing, so I should be fine. I love my pole because it fits my hands just right. 🙂
Wishing you all the best!

Titanium gold is a great option for cold weather poling. Chrome can work well too!! Titanium can be too grippy for new dancers who love to work on static spin, chrome is better for static spins, and the common "death grip" newer dancers experience. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Doctorsbaby,
I'm probably too late, but I just wanted to throw in my two cents in the pot. I also live in the North East (Western New York). I got a 45mm chrome pole in February and it works great! In the humidity, I stick SUPER well. In the winter, I just have to make sure that I've warmed up the pole, and it works just fine. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Hope this helps! -
Hope you find your pole Doctorsbaby! Good luck, and Your shoes are awesome! I really want some too, but my husband and i are so broke these days and id feel like a butt spending on sexy shoes lol. one day soon!
@Gotcha, I love my pole too, its a 40 and it fits my hands too, and one day we will be posting breathtaking videos like the peeps on here!:p

I had the same questions doctor, I called up xpole and the lady actually told me unless I wanted to have to replace the pole after so long, don’t go for the gold. It tends to fade. I went for the 50 chrome. And it is perfect. You can just buy gloves or the mighty grip powder and gels if it isn’t grippy enough. I can easily do inverted crufix on it, so it defintely is fine for me.

You will love it, I originally learnt on a 50mm sport pole but got a 45mm Xpert a year later. I immediately found it easier for my grip and I didn't notice much difference for thigh holds. I live in the U.K. and got a chrome because its sticky enough for summer and during the winter I just make sure that I warm up the room before I pole and also warm up the pole by doing a few spins and that usually works well,

I live in new england so very cold winters. I just turn a personal heater on close to it 10 mins before starting. Then turn off once I start.
