    Hi everyone!
My studio does recitals from time to time and we have one coming up in mid-July (July 16 at Studio In Essence for anyone who is in the Halifax, Nova Scotia area). I’m in a more advanced class and we’re doing our routine to a fun version of Yellow Polka Dot Bikini (the recital theme is something to do with the beach/summer). Anyways, there are 7 of us doing a routine together with time for each of us to do a solo that would be about two counts of 8. I’m not so good at imagining what looks best together so I’m looking for ideas for a solo that would look pretty impressive. I’ll be doing the solo on a spinning pole, and we have tossed around the idea of incorporating two people on the pole at a time instead of a solo as well.
I can do inversions and I’ve got a pretty reliable grip in my legs even if it’s warm. I just can’t do handspring, cartwheel or shoulder mounts yet, and my inversion from a climb still needs some work to look pretty so I’d rather not have that in there. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_colors.gif
    Thanks!!

Have you tried just dancing around to the section of the song that has your solo and see what comes to you? That’s how I come up with choreography.
