Solved my shorts problem but any customising tips?
You’re all going to think I’m mad but hear me out lol. These are the issues I’ve had to worry about while trying to find shorts for myself:
Coverage on the crotch. I’m comfortable with my body but no one needs to see my lady valleys and I don’t need to know you’ve seen them either! How other ladies do all these leg opening moves and don’t flash in their tiny knickers, I don’t know!
Fuzzies between waxing. As with the comment about lady valleys, most people can handle hairy legs in poling but that sort of hair, er, no. I have enough worries in poling without wondering if I’m scarring some poor soul.
Coverage but not so much that high thigh grips etc are affected.
Fit: It’s a nightmare getting things to fit me as I have a 26.5 waist to a 37.5 inch hips. Couple this with thicker thighs and clothes shopping is a nightmare. I do like the more snug fit shorts too rather than loose.
Budget. I won’t lie. I am broke. Right now I’m in no position to spend £20 on a pair of shorts when I need much more important things. I need a couple of pairs for practice at home and darker pairs for Aunt Flo times. It’s just too much money.
So I went to class this week and forgot my shorts. Had to borrow the emergency pair from the tutor. Well, they were men’s tight fitting trunks. I was a bit “uh” at first but wow, they work like a charm! So comfortable, they flex when I need them to, not too low on the leg, ample crotch coverage and they actually looked good on too. I was stunned. Because there’s a tiny bit of looseness around the crotch, there’s no camel toe either and I don’t feel like something is trying to saw my bits off, crush or pinch them in moves. It was a revelation. So I bought some of my own. £6 for three pairs. They’re 95% cotton so they allow the skin to breath. I wish I had known about this sooner. I can even get some tropical patterned ones, plain black, geeky etc. There’s quite a lot of choice and I’ve only looked in one store so far. I’ve realised that maybe they could be worn under very skimpy but pretty shorts too which are too flashy but I’ll have to try that out. Even normal knickers under them hardly show any VPL, if at all.
This is what they look like from the front, back and sides. Don’t mind the pins, I rolled the hem up by one turn to see how they looked. Now we see the one catch. Those seams on the front. Honestly when compared against the other issues I mentioned above, it’s nothing, it’s a matter of priorities and protecting essential modesty. However I am wondering if anyone has any idea of how to disguise or pretty up the front? I’m not much of a sewer but I do have a machine, needle and thread etc so I’m curious if anyone has any suggestions. So far I thought of criss-crossing ribbon to make it more girly. Or sewing in frills etc.
You can laugh now and I know some will probably be horrified lol. In the future I’ll get a proper pair of women’s shorts, I promise 😛
