Sorry I cant help with that, but i have a new spinny pole arriving today! Only ever poled on a static, so very excited to learn. How does it compare?

Veena’s lessons cover climbing in different styles on static and spinny. Really clear tutorials with tips on good form/points of contact/correct muscle usage. I do recommend them 🙂

It’s much harder to climb a spinny than a static, especially if it’s still going to look nice. Your abs and leg muscles will have to work more. As a guideline, the furher from the pole you keep your torso when you climb, the harder it’s going to be, since for each climb you have to come closer in to the pole again to regrip with your hands. Centrifugal forces are stronger at a larger distance from the pole so stay close!

My shin, after doing a power climb on a new, slippy pole this week spinning too fast!
Be careful and extend a leg or arm out to slow yourself if going too fast – tucking in makes you go faster, like a figure skater in a spin.
