So my pole is in spinny mode right now, and I noticed is creaking/squeaking a little bit when I swing on it. It wasn't doing this yesterday, when my boyfriend and I first put it up. Does mean the pole is too tight? Too loose? Any thoughts?

Where is the creaking/squeeking sound coming from?  Thre are a few threads on this that I came across when I was having issues with setting up my pole but it really depends on what is causing the sound.

I'm not really sure–I'll have to pay closer attention next time to try and figure out exactly where it is coming from. I figured it was probably a little overtight so I loosened it a bit, and it's not doing it as badly, but I can still hear it. I was looking around for any threads that mentioned the same thing, and someone mentioned that her pole only does it when the humidity level is up, and she thinks that might have something to do with it–it has been extremely humid here, so if that's true, that might be contributing. It wouldn't have done that at first most likely if it was the humidity because, though it was really damp the first day we set it up, the pole hadn't been up very long, and now it's been there for a couple of days so it's had time to sit.

I'm really tired of this humidity, I have to say. Usually it is really dry here, but the last month or so it has been rainy and muggy on and off constantly. It's horrible–I can actually see the moisture on my pole. It's so damp that when I pull out clothes that are clean and dry, they are actually damp. I got a brief reprieve the other night for some reason, and my pole was totally dry–I managed to get through an entire song without wiping my hands or the pole once, which has never happened to me before, so I know this TG is going to be great for me if only all this moisture will go away! I'm seriously thinking about picking up a dehumidifier, but I don't have the money for one of the really good, expensive ones, and I'm wondering if one of the mini, cheapo ones will even work. They're around $30, but I don't want to waste $30 if they're not going to do anything.

My pole started clicking all of a sudden. I tried untightening wich didn't work. I had to take it down and put it up again and then it stopped 🙂 Try taking it down instead of just untightening 🙂

Here's the thread I started when mine was making noises.

I think I am going to untighten it all the way, and then re-tighten it–if it still does it, then I'll take it completely down. I just don't want to disassemble and then reassemble the entire thing if I only need to loosen it a bit. Thanks for the advice!

Well I didn't completely disassemble it. I took the pole down, removed the top dome, checked it, put it back on and then put the pole back up. 🙂

Oooh, ok–that's a lot easier. I'll try loosening it/taking the dome off later tonight or tomorrow, whenever I get a chance, and let you guys know if that fixed it, for anyone else having the same issue.
