Stainless Steel 45mm X-Pert X-Pole
Posted by BabyOpal87 on October 29, 2012 at 8:58 pmI'm getting ready to buy my first pole. I spoke with my local pole teacher today and I decided I want to go with Stainless Steel 45mm X-Pert X-Pole.
Has anyone danced on or have the New and Improved Stainless Steel pole? If so, how do you like it?
I appreciate any input.

I just got mine last week in the mail and I am having so much fun. It is a little different to me because I am used to my old carmen elektra pole that seems fatter but I am slowly getting used to my new xpole. I love love love it!!!!!

I bought my first pole and chose 45 mm stainless steel, its not x-pert but i can give you an idea of why i chose it.
So far I am really liking the stainless and glad i did not go with powder coated or anything else. I dont tend to sweat over much or have sweaty palms and stainless is slippery enough to me to do spins on. I have danced on brass and didnt like it (just personal choice).
I went with 45mm because i thought 50mm felt to big and 40 mm felt too small, but like goldilocks, 45 was just right. I have small hands and my hands just didnt grip the 50 and the 40 was pretty hard for me to climb. so 45 was perfect. Also, from reading on here, I get the impression 45 seems like the norm in competitons so I thought it another plus to train for my goals.
On top of that I went with a spinning/static combo because i kew that I would want to learn both and didnt want to buy 2 poles (although I want a portable pole so eventually I will buy another pole 🙂 LOL)
I know its not the exact pole you were asking about but i thought my thinking process on my first purchase might help you out.

Abc – stainless does not come in the sport model, only x pert. If you have a sport, then you would have chrome.

As i stated I do not have an x-pert pole. I have a stainless steel 45mm lil mynx rotator, which i chose over a x-pert pole for several reasons. This is why i wrote that it was not the exact pole OP was asking about, it was just my thought process on material and size which i thought would help.

MissStarr- Thanks. I'm getting really excited now!
AerialGypsy- Thanks for the clarification.
abcollins1- I really appreciate your in depth insight . I totally agree, I'm all about getting spinning/ static because I know I'm going to want it down the line. It's great you know that 45mm is right for you. I'm getting the idea that 45mm is slowly becoming the new standard. I have never danced on a powder coated, though once in a full class I danced on a brass X-Stage. It really wasn't my thing, I couldn't wait to switch(I don't think I was ready for it yet)

I think ur smart w 45 and a spinner. But i know for me, and others SS is very slick. U may want to do chrome at least, that is the norm for comps if that is your goal.

stainless is tricky. It's gets grippier with time, but you have to be super patient and work through the major slick phase. I like stainless but I have perticular grabby skin. Even my chrome pole took some skin off me last night! 😉
