Just tried my favo boots on my pole and posted my first ever video on youtube. The vinyl boots do not actually adhere to the pole like they do to other poles. About the vid, while it's not my dream first video 😉 I think it's a good example of the "slide" I'm talking about, if anyone is interested:

That is so weird that those boots don't stick!

You HAVE to tell X pole that the SS is unworkable.

hm, could the stainless have a lacquer or a factory coating on it like the chrome? have you tried rubbing it down with acetone?

Honestly, I know it's totally different, but after my experiences with Platinum Stages customer service, I don't even want to give any feedback on my pole to X Pole. I will consider. But yeah, I've tried alcohol, windex, and acetone :/ Hmmm. Also tried itac and other grips. I'll wipe it down again 🙂 Maybe X Pole will see the vid, haha. I was shocked the boots didn't stick though!

Send them the video in an email. If the boots don’t stck, it defeats the purpose of using shoes, or any of the other products to help grip, and just emphasizes how hard skin grip is.

Actually KittyN…lol @ your side note. I laugh too when I watch the video! It does look pretty funny! I was actually shocked when I couldn't get the boots to grip. I know I have to squeeze with a bruising death grip out of my limbs (way more than any other pole) to even get a grip that will last a few seconds when staying high, with the boots I thought it would be a little easier, hence the scrambling, haha https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Now I work shoeless or just in my ballet shoes, as shoes don't seem to help, like Sensualscimitar said.

Still considering talking to X Pole.

Hey i know this is an old thread, but i wanted to add to it. i recently bought a SS xpert from xpole. i've poled on lil mynx and PS and i love love love stainless steel! I called Xpole. And Heydi sent me a small sample of the metal to be sure it's what i wanted. because they say their SS poles are more slippery than their chrome. the sample piece looked just like that dull matte finish in your photos @https://www.studioveena.com/users/view/4d464a9a-832c-49c2-83e9-155f0ac37250. when i actually got the pole in the mail, it had a glossy bright finish much like the chrome poles. i pondered whether or not they sent me a chrome by mistake but the touch did feel more grippy than the chrome. i think chrome feels so slippery against my skin. i usually have to apply a coating of dry hands. anywho lately i've been feeling just as slippery on my SS pole as the chrome. maybe it's been the weather.

so…can anyone provide feedback who's bought a SS xpole within the last year?? do all of their SS poles have that matte finish? or did they change how the finish on the SS poles? because it looks similar to a lil mynx SS pole. OR did i get a chrome pole by mistake? lol

X pole used to sell the matte finish on their stainless and brass. They have since changed that are are selling a high polish now. Hope that helps.

Does anyone still find this is the case? I’m buying a xpole (really want a SV pole but I think it would be too grippy for me) and would like to get some opinions before I decide on either SS or Chrome. I have a ss at the moment but it is an “eBay xpole” so I’m really keen to replace it with a proper x pole. So… I got my pole as a complete beginer, and I’ve not had too much problems with grip at all, even when it was brand new. Does anyone find the new ss xpoles to be slicker than most ss poles? I don’t want to get it if I’m not going to be able to use it but then if I happen to be a ss person changing to chrome might be not the best either?.? Ahh, such a hard decision.
