I meet this problem alot in my job. "photographers" stealing my pictures and claiming they took them, editors claiming they edited it. I've even tried other girls using them and claiming they are the ones on the picture (the last one I dont get at all!) The best thing you can do, is watermark them. I usually do this, except here on SV. Otherwise you can just spread the word, like you are doing and take it as a creepy compliment. :/ One of the photographers I know, een has a lawyer for this purpose only, but it also happens to him alot. Some people are just creeps :/

Yes I need to figure out how to watermark them. That is what my husband said but in would not want it directly in the middle of the photo… Or maybe it’s not so bad. Any tips on making a watermark? I am sure I could google it. Thanks again for the feedback!! I couldn’t think of any other way to get the word out better than to post here and put it in my fb status. Like you said, it is a creepy compliment :-S. and I really would like to think it would not happen on SV but what if it did..? That almost scares me.

I dont know what it is, but I feel kind of safe on SV. Its the only place online where trolls and negativity are rare, but if it would happen, I would learn from that.:) Youcan make a very subtle watermark with an opacity around 5-10 % people would not see that right away, but the ou can point it out, that your name is on that picture. I change how I do it,from time to time. Sometimes I do the mark like I wrote before, or I put it on the side of the picture (a place where it does not go over me) and make it a little more obvious. You can pretty easily make one in photoshop. Its a bit complicated to explain in a message, but if you search "how to make a watermark in ps" on youtube, theres lots of simple step by step tutorials for it 🙂

Oh and if they distribute my pictures with the watermark on, I concider it free advertising 🙂

Yep this is the safest way to keep your pics from being stole..I do it for all my Tigg's picture that goes outside SV. Here people are more respectful and most of all i think there's system in place that prevent from ''saving'' a pic at least there's is one for the video…that really help to feel more safe.

mine was stolen by a japanese magazine around 2 years ago.they published it without anything, call or email or link.i think they grabbed it from my website.i asked some people here.and was told that it would be a waste of time dealing with it since lawyers fee is enormous.so my idea was a watermark.but note that we cannot control much in this internet world anymore, unless we are so equipped to tracking things.but if its a facebook profile.i am sure u can do report.

All my pics are private for friends only so this won't happen. So creepy!!!

Wow shmiz! That is creepy!!! Creepy seems so over used now that I need to come up wth another way to describe this crazy idea that people would have of stealing a photo for themselves. @luvlee, the person on facebook added me bc we had a mutual friend. Here in Germany, it is hard for me to remember their real names, let alone if it is just a Facebook name they use. I should have just asked them directly how they knew me and that I only add people that I know, or spent time with at a workshop, or whatever. This person downloaded my photo, re-uploaded it as one of their own pictures as if it was them in my picture instead of me. Here you can not see my face. I think that upset me the most. It’s like they use other people’s photos to make them think they can do all this stuff when really it isn’t even her. Ive also recently been snubbed by some pole people and that hurt pretty bad… This is just the icing on the cake. The few veneers I have met in person have been so loving and wonderful, but I’ve learned the hard way that other people are not like that.

I have commented on her photo now as it´s still on her page. I told her to be fair and link the person if she uses the picture of someone else. I´m so sorry that you got in contact with that person through me.
I kept my facebook account private for a long time, too, but decided to use it as a public account as many pole dancers, too. I got to many friend invites from people I didn´t know and as I don´t post private stuff on facebook, I now accept everyone

It's ok emotion catcher (((((hugs)))) I don't blame you! This person is a sleeze bag and I am just too selfish to share all of my pole things with everyone. Maybe if I every become a polebrity, like you (wink, wink) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif then I might feel different. Then everyone would know me and say "wth! That's not you, you theaving, wanna be!!" Or something like that. I just need to be more cautious and think about watermarking my stuff. Thank you for saying something, though. It has obiously fallen on deaf ears. They must do this all the timeand we and we are just a small voice inside their big head. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

I want to comment on a few things here. There are quite a few people I know who have had photos lifted from ANY website, if you think that the photos here on SV are safe from being downloaded I would think again. There are programs out there that will grab a picture off a site, even when it is protected.
Second, if you send a photo to someone and ask them to change it artistically, that changed photo becomes their property. By sending the photo in the first place you granted permission to them to use it in the way intended. Please do not say that someone stole your photo when you sent it to them in the first place.
Third, Facebook is generally very good about removing users and profiles when you can prove that person has stolen your photo. It may take a day or two for it to happen, especially when things are discovered over the weekend.
We all need to keep in mind that ANYTHING that is posted on the internet can be found.

If it was ment to me, I never ment that I think pictures are protected here on sv. Just that I like the environment and that I feel safer, because of the people here, they seem very nice and supportive. I could not imagine a profile here, with mine or others pictures. If it happens, I naturally wont feel as comfortable anymore.
About the photos being send to someone to change them, I have done that. But you send a note with that, stating it is still your property and they agree to that, they have no rights.
