I have both my right and left splits but I’m struggling opening my hips enough to get my middle split. Any tips?

I try holding myself up with my gravity to push me down but I feel like I spend more effort fighting gravity than allowing myself to sit into the stretch. doesn’t seem terribly effective.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Some think it’s easier to stretch this in a hammock or with aerial silks. Then the upper body can stay upright and you don’t have to think that much about fighting gravity.

Hi Desiree! There are many stretching in the lessons here for middle splits, I also have a full length routine for middles. Not everyone can achieve a perfect middle split so don’t be too hard on yourself if it doesn’t happen, you can always fake it or stick with other split variations! Here’s a video I made that can also be found in the “Veena’s Tips” section of the lessons here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Lv6af4pKQ8
