Started my splits journey over today and only made it throught the first 20 MINUTES of my 'Pure Splits' dvdhttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif. UUGGHH WHY CANT THIS BE EASIER!!! I know it takes time, but its like when you picture yourself stretching it always LOOKS like a piece of cake. Then the day you actually start your routine, it seems like your splits goal is YEARS away!! I need HELLA motivation https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Flexiblity training takes time and patience. I have grown to love it, it's my favorite training. I can finally unwind and just tune into my body.

Don't lose sight of your goals and with enough time and patience you will get there! Maybe once you start to see more improvement and see the benefits cross over into your dance it will become easier for you to stick to.

Another plus… maintaining flexibility is less time/effort than gaining flexibility. That' some incentive right there. 🙂

It's hard to get going, but once you start it gets easier. I stretch everyday after my hot shower. I have seen difinite results in my flexibility and it keeps me motivated. I also suffer from a lot of aches and pains from sitting a lot, which also helps my motivation. I did AA's stretching DVD's a few times, but I've found what works best for me is to just start at my neck and work down the body stretching each part of me. I've gotten into a routine that stretches EVERYTHING.

I keep bendy pictures say on my laptop homescreen or on my fridge for bendy inspiration.

It took me like 5 attempts to start flex training but now its a part of my day and I find I’m really annoyed if I miss a session. I no its hard to stay motivated because its not instant results but I find taking monthly photos helps to track ur progress.

So stick at it. Ur body will crave stretches when its used to it. Good luck!
