Stretching for splits: Hips square or not?
I had Aline Kerber at my studio last weekend and had an interesting discussion with her.
I’m not experiencing any progress in my stretching allthough I’ve tried many different techniques, have visited several Workshops and read about stretching a lot.She now told my I should just open up my hips and NOT keeping them square. This way she said it will be a lot easier. I was confused, because I’ve always been told to Keep my hips square.
She argues, that
– We don’t neet a square split
– It makes you look shorter (which is obvious once you think about it)So, what’s your opinion on this? What are your reasons pro or con?
