I will be honest that I am a super sweaty person and chrome is not ideal for me but okay. Brass and powder coated however are my two least favorite finishes. They are both almost unusable for me, especially in winter. My favorite finish is stainless steel. It works noticeably far better for me than any other finish and in almost all weather conditions.
I don’t say this to be contradictory, just to underscore the point that every person is different and so the best thing is to try before buying if possible, at a studio or even an xpole store. I’ve come to believe that my preference for stainless steel and total hopelessness with brass or powder coated poles is at least partly because, while I sweat extremely heavily when exerting myself, my skin is also very dry and flaky and very sensitive under that. I’m sure my personal chemistry in my sweat is a factor too. Just wanted to throw in my perspective because I am a “sweaty type” yet my preferences go totally against what is thought to be the best with regards to finish and grip aids for sweaty people, and it used to make me feel inadequate and generally down. So when I see sweaty folks having trouble with some of the suggestions generally given to sweaty people I want to encourage them to be persistent because grip is extremely personal and unique to each dancer and it’s okay if products advertised for sweaty people don’t work for you.

Oh yeah, I forgot about SS, it’s great for sweat too.

Thanks for all the help I’ve never tried the prince grip stuff have dry hands and all the others even the gorilla grip tacky towel cause one place I went to briefly used it and it had good grip. So will def look it up and try. So Windex and steaming are the ways to go cleaning wise glad I thought to ask cause always have a spray bottle by ny stage now and wouldn’t want to forget and use on the sv pole. Does it come in a standard height and can be made shorter or can you order any height even say 12 ft if was using in room with very tall ceilings and do all I need to do is find the stud with a stud finder to install it? Sorry for all the questions I always think of something else after I have already asked something lol

Are you asking about the SV pole? There are 2 sizes that adjust 8-9 and 9-10 ft. You can check out the videos on the shopping page https://www.studioveena.com/shopping

Yes the room I plan on putting it in has tray like ceilings so middle part higher so wanted to make sure could get ling enough. Will check out link and thanks for the help

Veena, I was really skeptical of a powder coated pole. But I wanted a single piece, rotating, removable one. And I’m so glad I decided to return that chrome xpert before I installed it. *thankfully the manager at the third party vender site was willing to work with me.
I called Lil Mynx with my other questions. And my pole arrived FedEx yesterday before I left for my studio session. I came home and decided to give it a try. Especially after ALL I explained on the other thread about finger pain and finger burn.
I just gotta say this is the best pole I’ve ever had my hands on. Better than the platinumstages brass, chrome, and steel (50mm) static and spinning poles. Better than chrome xpert. At least for me and my sweaty hands that I’m having to recondition to grip at the palms instead of the fingertips. I’m one very happy poler. Thanks!

That’s great to hear Nachashisis. I don’t get calluses on my hands when I use my SV pole! It’s weird, I get really bad ones when I use my brass! I’m happy to hear it’s working well for you too!

I love it. And a dry soft cloth is all I need to wipe it down. Sweet.

I have had my veena pole for a couple of weeks now and it is a great home pole! I only have space now in my living room since we moved back to the States and not having a pole at home was killing me (I opened a studio and sold my xpole). This has been my saving grace bc my husband doesn’t feel like it’s “in the way.” I am not a fan of the sound it makes on spin, but that was not the reason I bought it. It spins fine, but it makes a grinding sound that my daughter can not stand. My hands still need to get used to it bc they do feel like they are on fire after I play. I am still afraid to get wild on it because the mount is so different from my xpole and my platinum stages poles in the studio. I am afraid of it coming down like one of those youtube videos, but I see Veena tearing it up on her pole so I feel it is all in my head. For now I play carefully π I have laminate flooring and find that it felt less secure with the anti-skid pad, so I just use it with the feet since they are also grippy. My son LOVES my pole and I have been teaching him to Chinese climb and frog sit (he is 4). Other than the sound on spin (and my crazy fear of it coming down or slipping out from bottom) I feel it is perfect for what I need at home.

Try using liquid graphite to stop the noise. Someone said it worked great for her, mine only makes loud noise if the pole is too tight or a little off center, otherwise the sound is very slight.
-
Where do I put the liquid graphite on the pole..? I may very well have it too tight bc I am afraid it will come down. I have a nifty level with a magnet on the side–life saver–and I check on all 4 sides to see it’s even. I will try losening it a little and let me know about this liquid graphite! I am excited that it might work π

I would contact lil mynx and ask them where and how, I’ve never done it π
-
I believe little mynx suggests using wd40 where the extension and pole meet. I believe it says something about that in their instruction manual on pole care
-
From what I understand they use to suggest using WD40 but now recommend liquid graphite instead. Γ°ΕΈΛΕ if you want to know for sure you can always contact them.

Finally got my order for the pole in, I can’t wait to get on it! Giddy giddy giddy!!!
