No I don’t have any other symptoms…I have had this before mostly when I was younger and had started figure skating again…in my early 20s. So that is why I wonder if the cold weather and spin mode work my have brought it on? My whole family has sensitive sinuses so thinks like the cold weather will irritate them.

I don’t have any earwax either and dislike sticking Qtips in them but keep them clean so idk https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif …my husband would die without Qtips for his ears https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

Chris and I have a date tonight so I hope it clears up https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_compress.gif

Tell Chris that in the ER we use to tell people the only thing you should put in your ear is your elbow! LOL

Up date! I had taken sudafed this morning…made me stare and have the chills. lol Happens every time. weird https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif

Took a hot steamy shower https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

Tried the neti pot..wow that was an odd feeling, but think it may help a bit. I could clearly feel all of my sinus hot spots when I did that. It made me feel even more dizzy because I think things were trying to clear. No dramatic change yet but well see. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Then I stuck my head over boiling water felt nice.

There is an advil congestion med that I might take later (don’t really want to. And if I wake up and feel no change then its on to ONIONS! I have used garlic to cure yeast infections so why not onions for ears. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

thanks everyone….I gotta get my dance on before I have to take everything down for the move!!!!!! Like I said I have had this before and it just takes a few days to clear up but I can’t wait https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

One last suggestion: they sell a product at all major drug stores called Sinus Rinse. It’s a bottle and little packets of saline mixture. It works like a neti pot but is much easier to mix the solution perfectly (so no sting) and very easy to gently squeeze the contents into your nostrils.
You might also try some Afrin nasal spray. It will clear up any congestion in your eustachian tubes. I often use it when I fly.

There’s only one thing that works to unplug my ears when sinuses attack…YAWN!! Yawn, and yawn, and yawn some more. To help you yawn, read something extremely boring like the owner’s manual for a car or watch something on one of those TV channels where ancient political dinosaurs drone on for hours in a language that doesn’t even sound human. Sometimes just even reading the word "YAWN" will make you yawn. For some reason it always makes my ears pop when I do. I don’t know why it works, but it works for me! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I love that car manual is a suggested cure for blocked ears https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Bit late now but for anything to do with having a bunged up face/head, I steam. Bowl of boiling water (+ eucalyptus if it’s really bad), head over bowl, towel over head. Not very sexy and it’s kinda unpleasant but it helps!

I’m almost 100% better today. They are. Still a bit plugged but I can pop them and I can tell they are draining. Thank you all xoxo https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I think everyone’s already said what my doctor told me… yawn, sniff and swallow.

She suggested inhaling steam with a few drops of olbas oil in it (if you guys have that over there?).

Apparently these 3 things are supposed to change the inner balance somewhere and pull the build-up down to the throat or something… I’m not a medic so probably remembering all confused! but blowing your nose is going to build up the pressure again.

Personally, inhaling steam has done absolutely nothing to clear my ears (although it helped my nose a bit), and she checked there is no wax build-up, so I’m going back! Hope you feel better soon!
