Supplements to increase flexibility?
Posted by Jade savage on August 12, 2012 at 3:44 pmHas anyone had any success with supplements – ie, vitamins or formulations specifically marketed to increase flexibility? I’m struggling with my middle split despite the fact that I’ve been stretching for 1.5 hours 3-4 times a week… I am doing front oversplits but those frustrating middle splits elude me. Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks!!

Interesting question and I am curious what would come out as feedback.
Since 2 weeks, I am taking Silicium in liquid. According to what I've read, the treatment should be at least 90 days.
I think there might be 2-3 options. These products are also helpful for any post trauma/injury!
1) SUNDOWN OSTEO BI-FLEX ADVANCED DOUBLE STRENGH, 150 COATED CA Sundown
Q. What is Glucosamine?
A.Glucosamine is an amino saccharide that occurs naturally in the body. Glucosamine is used by the body as a precursor for cartilage synthesis. Glucosamine is also necessary to keep cartilage tissue lubricated and maintain its naturally slippery texture.* All Osteo Bi-Flex products utilize glucosamine to support joint comfort, mobility, and flexibility.*†
Q. What is Joint Shield?
A.Joint Shield is a proprietary blend that works to guard against the action of enzymes that affect joint health.* Joint Shield features the patent-pending ingredient 5-LOXIN Advanced, which shows improvement in joint comfort within seven days.1 5-LOXIN Advanced is a super concentrated extract of boswellia serrata, which helps with joint flare-ups.*
Q. Why Take Osteo Bi-Flex Over Other Brands?
A.Osteo Bi-Flex is the only brand to feature the revolutionary formulation of ingredients in Joint Shield, with the patent-pending ingredient 5-LOXIN Advanced. Taking 5-LOXIN Advanced showed improvement in joint comfort within seven days.1 Joint Shield with 5-LOXIN Advanced works to guard against the action of enzymes that affect joint health.*
Osteo Bi-Flex is manufactured under the strictest standards for product purity and potency. It is made exclusively with naturally sourced glucosamine†. With Osteo Bi-Flex, you can rest assured that what is on the label is what you are getting.
Q. How Long Do I Need to Take Osteo Bi-Flex?
A.The 5-LOXIN Advanced in Osteo Bi-Flex has been shown to improve joint comfort within seven days.1 However, taking Osteo Bi-Flex regularly can contribute to joint health and comfort.* Significant improvements have been shown with continued use of 5-LOXIN Advanced. 5-LOXIN Advanced continued improvements in joint comfort when studied over a 90 day period of time.*
Glucosamine provides the building blocks for helping cartilage to renew. The longer you take Osteo Bi-Flex the longer your body will benefit.
Osteo Bi-Flex contains glucosamine HCl (glucosamine hydrochloride) to cushion the joints and promote range of motion*
Product Features:

With glucosamine is a natural ingredient that provides the necessary building blocks of cartilage

Silicium G5
What is Silicium G5 Liquid Siliplant?
It is a drinkable version of organic silica which is essential for healthy connective tissue and the skin. It keeps the body energetic and young !
Key Benefits
Helps keep joints, muscles, hair and nails healthy
Supports collagen production – anti-wrinkle
Protects against free radicals
In 1994, the first drinkable organic silica was obtained by Dr Loic Le Ribault and is now produced in Spain. As we get older the natural silica present in our bodies drops and needs to be replenished regularly to maintain the body’s natural functions.
Silica is an active ingredient which helps support general health. It is well known to be used for the regeneration of the skin and soft tissues, especially collagen and elastin. It is widely used in many cosmetic and anti-ageing fields.
Deficiency of certain minerals and vitamins may lead to premature joint problems. Silica promotes the deposit of calcium in the bones and helps produce natural bone remineralisation.
It is especially essential for athletes, convalescents, people suffering from tiredness and the elderly. The Silicium G5 liquid Siliplant uses only plant based organic silica for the best results !
Silica, in the human body, is found in the cartilage, the ligaments, tendons and also on the walls of the blood vessels.
It supports the production of collagen and so it plays an important role in maintaining the elasticity of the skin and blood vessels.
It has a natural and pleasant taste, with vegetable notes. No bitter aftertaste.
3) GLUCOSAMINE
Feel free to explore and experiment.

There was a discussion in a FB group also regarding gluten allergy and flexibility.

Doing ANY (no exaggeration) exercise, stretching, getting up from sitting -laying down Parts of my body cracks (like an old house) not always sore, guess I’m used to it, but everyone knows its me coming. Fitness instructors can tell when I’m not doing jumping jacks, or push ups, can hear my ankles, knees, elbows, wrists. During yoga – kinda got snubbed out for making too much noise, and others laugh.
I blame it on having an eating disorder for a decade. I only take ‘joint health’ supplements MSM, hyaluronic acid, etc (for yrs, no change of function) any advice on a solution to a silent body? 30 yo. Healthy weight, tall girl. If advice to see a physician or specialist, which field? -
yoga body naturals has a supplement – I have not tried it. Joint Juice is good.
Honestly though for middles – it's not achieveable for everyone, have you been to a dr or chiropractor? Middles can depend on your hips, how they are shaped and tilted.

I don’t know of any supplements that increase flexibility…. All the joint supplements do is help with cartilage and help to keep joints lubricated.. Basic joint health
The problem is that yes flexibility kind of has to do with joints… Its not the structures that joint pills help…….. To increase flexibility you have to try to stretch the muscles and tendons that cross the joint
There’s been some new stretching techniques out…. Resistance stretching is supposed to be awesome… There’s a book that the swimmer dara torres is in
