Sweaty Palms
Posted by edr71 on January 10, 2009 at 8:08 pmOne thing that is constantly messing me up when i am trying to learn a new move is my sweaty palms. I constantly have to wipe them with a towel yet, they are not fully dry. Do you know what products I should use to help stop my problem?

Athletic stores carry grip enhancing products that you can spray on your hands that can temporarily help with the sweat, a little bit goes a long way and too much will clump on your pole. Its the same stuff for keeping a good grip on a tennis racket, or a football for example, or for keeping hands dry in gloves. Very important to keep your pole squeaky clean to achieve best results with these products. Good luck!

I have found that washing my hands with the hottest water i can stand (not to the point it hurts) with dish soap or anything that really strips the oil off your hands really helps if you have any residue from lotions/oils ect on your hands, even if you wash, but use creamy soft soap type stuff, you may still find it hard to really get your hands dry as oil and water don’t mix so trying to clean oils (wether your natrual ones or from prduct) with cool water and soft soap doesn’t really get the job done this is just a tip might be worth a try though https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif
ps keep your hands off your hair and face as will get oils/sweat ect on your hands and use a seprate towel for face and pole (maybe common sense, but have seen people wipe there pole and there face with same towel …not a big deal, but not the best idea either) hope you find this helpful https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

Try out some grip aids, here’s a nice handy list of some…
Mighty Grip – a powder which is activated by heat
Gorilla Gold – a sticky towel
Surgrip – the wonderful "mythical" stuff, they’ve stopped making it now https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
Dry Hands – I love this stuff
Eco ball – a chalk ball
Liquid chalk
Stickum – a spray or a paste
Itac – level 2 is recommended for pole dancingIt’s best not to get reliant on these grip aids, but they are wonderful for learning new moves, especially if you’re anything like me. As soon as I try anything new I get really sweaty hands
