So I don't know if it's the humidity or if I just have unusually sweaty hands.  I can't hold onto my pole if my life depended on it at this point.  I put my hands infront of a fan to dry off.  I've tried rubbing alcohol and vinegar (I read an old post that said it's fantastic!) but neither have worked.  After a few spins, I'm slipping again.  So (still being relatively beginner) I find it difficult to invert because no matter how tight I'm gripping, my legs feel like they're slipping as well.  As well, my hands are clean to start out with – no lotion residue.

Suggestions at this point would be fantastic.  Is this a point to try gloves?  Or should I try dry hands, Itac, etc?  Let me know what has worked for you.

    Many thanks!

By the way, I have a chrome pole if that makes a difference.

Try Tite Grip first, it’s an antiperspirant it works great for sweaty hands. If that dosent work try the gloves, they will probably come in handy in the future anyway. If you want a more permanent solution you can try DrySol. It’s an antiperspirant that you apply twice a week. I found mine at Superstore (Loblaws) for 12$ I think. It’s worth a shot if you don’t mind sleeping with gloves on.

I have this same problem! Sometimes my hands can sweat profusely… I've tried EVERYTHING on the market. For me, it depends on the pole surface and the enviornmental conditions. B/c some grips work ok for some conditions and not at all for others. Previously I've been using mighty grip for lil mynx poles… this hasn't worked for platinum stages poles… so now I'm using dry hands for that.

Gloves don't work.. the surface area of the glove that covers the palm of your hands is not flexible… so it doesn't have enough surface area that's touching the pole to make it grip well..not sure if that make sense?

So far these are the main ones that I use, but I have to CONSTANTLY keep reaaplying and then kind of waiting for the pole to dry/air out before doing something else on it:)

I have mighty grip gloves and find them very helpful. My hands sweat profusely and sweat through grip aids and antiperspirants.

We're not in the same part of the world, but I just wanna say that I also experience bigger grip problems now than just a couple of weeks ago. It's the same every summer. Humid weather. I don't think you wanna use iTac on your hands if you want to do spins on a static pole. Personally I use Tite grip as foundation and then liquid chalk on that.

@CalBear you can get full finger gloves from mighty grip now. They take a few sessions to break in, but after that the “flexibility” of the gloves improves.

    research hyperhidrosis…

sweat on the pole is a serious health hazard, so dont give up finding a solution.

my hands sweat alot too- i sweat THROUGH mighty grip gloves!

even my finger tips sweat, so wearing gloves doesnt always help because the gloves are fingerless.  Even though the gloves dont keep my hand sweat off the pole completely, they still are the best option I have thus far.  I sweat through grip aids as well- so I am really grateful for mighty grip gloves.

i just keep a bunch of towels close by and accept and embrace my uniqueness.

We make two styles of  the full finger gloves;  with and without tackified palms. If you want to have a softer more fexible glove I would recommend the non-tack gloves. They will give you grip and also allow you to spin on stationary pole.

I have the same issue but I have found out that it sometimes depends on the environment sadly. Like in the studio with running AC and three fans it’s okay. Sadly at home I just have the AC, I bought the itac from the xpole website bc the other Dry hands really dried them out. Gloves sadly dont always work for me since like other said then my fingers start sweating and I don’t want to use full finger gloves.

Just ordered some Mighty Gloves. I plan on using Dry Hands before wearing, and using them throughout this summer heat wave!
