Sweaty hands
Posted by janderson74 on November 18, 2013 at 7:19 pmI have the veena pole and I’m having problems with sweaty hands! What should I clean my pole with and what should I use for these sweaty hands?

What finish is an sv pole? I use a chrome xpert and I find wiping it down with vodka then using dry hands helps a lot! 🙂

I clean my xpole with rubbing alcohol, and use either tite grip or dirty girl poletice to stop the sweating, then a bit of dry hands on top for a bit of tack.

The sv pole is powder coated do not use alcohol on the pole it will dull the finish. Use windex or steam has worked well for me too. If you have sweaty hands try mighty grip or dry hands. There isn’t a perfect finish for Rhodes with sweaty hands 😕

I’m going to mention something we have tried. NO Antiperspirant under your arms! It works for some people! You stop an awful lot of sweat in one area of your body and it has to come out somewhere. Use deodorant, or nothing.
We have experimented with this and have found results. The results may not be huge but they work and when you eventually get callus’s on your hands, you won’t have to worry about it.

I have a medical problem of excessively sweaty hands and feet so I use Dri Chlor on them which is extra strength deodorant. Stops my hands and feet sweating altogether! I’ve suggested it to a few people and it’s worked for them too.

Just reading a warning on Driclor, it says it can discolor metals (such as rings, other jewelry, I’m assuming) but has anyone had a bad experience with their pole metal becoming discolored from using it? Are you using the roll-on variety, and if so, does it take very long to dry? (Warning also says not to touch clothes until it dries completely)

Makasha, I use Clinical Strength deodorant (works the same as Dri-clor). I put it on my hands at night, before getting into bed. In the morning, I wash my hands with soap and water which eliminates any reside that can stain clothing or discolor metal.

I’ve been using Dri Chlor for about 4 or 5 years and never had a problem with it staining anything at all. It absorbs into your skin so I don’t think it would stain the pole? Either way I don’t have a choice, I’ve tried Botox and other methods of controlling my hyperhydrosis and they didn’t work.

So far so good and I’ve been using it for about 8 months now.
