So despite being constantly discouraged at my lack of progression with pole, I bought myself a pole. After research, I settled on the TG X pole. We have chrome at my studio and its just a bit too slippery and I always need grip aids. So, TG for my home pole it was! However, IT IS TOO GRIPPY. Im just beginning to do holds, but I cant slide out of them, my skin gets stuck and I basically ahve to fall of the pole to keep my skin intact.

Is there anything I can put on my body to help with the stickiness? I know lotion is bad for pole dancers, but maybe in this case it would help????

    Any advice is appreciated!

I felt like that at first when I used TG… But I got used to it, I don’t apply the same pressure or something… I’m not sure. I have a chrome but after playing more with the TG at the studio it’s next on my “to buy” list.

Preppy, I went through same thing when I bought my TG years ago. I got all bruised and scraped. But I love it. I had to learn how to adjust and get passed the pain of a good stick. I would rather deal with good stick than slippery. It will get better. By the way, I also get tore up when practicing hard at the studio with xpole chrome. With all the poles I have used at various studios, and I am on my 4th one at home, I find there are pros and cons with each one. Enjoy it and your pole journey 🙂

Oh and what Allyson said, I still had death grip when I got my TG, so had to get confortable and learn to soften hand grip.
