So I posted a video earlier labeled ‘deadlift TG Ayesha success’ I am still confused even after explanation on the difference between TG and SG. I thought I was doing TG because I had my wrist twisted, but there have been a few ladies that said I was doing SG. I’m not offended just confused. I thought TG was if u are standing to right of pole face forward outer (right) arm up to pole hand and palm out (thumb down) in front of pole then twist until hand is gripping pole with thumb up fingers closing on backside of pole so top of hand is in front of pole. And SG is when u r in same starting position right arm grips pole by grabbing on thumb up fingers coming together in back of pole top of hand facing front but no twist in the wrist. Is this correct??? I am not saying anyone is wrong maybe I am just misunderstanding? When I tried to do anything with split grip (hangman or lift) I can not get close to doing it….so idk. Maybe there is a video that shows different hand positions including TG to compare?
Take a look at my video if u want to see what I am talking about, I also have a different TG Ayesha video (my first time) with leg swing but using left arm instead of right arm but would this b considered split grip too???

You were doing a Twisted grip. Here's what the Split grip and true grip looks like.

I just want to mention, I don't suggest working on TG too often, it can be very hard on the joints. Other grips are more difficult, but you'll body will thank you in the end. If you must use a twisted grip try working on it from an inverted position off the pole lowering down, to protect the shoulders.

Thank u veena for the clarification on this. This is the only thing I think I do with TG but I will keep in mind the risks for sure. I do want to work on SG and true grip deadlifts it seems as impossible as TG did right now though!!
