I was wondering if it would be possible to have a category of posts for "teacher's lounge," an area where instructors and studio owners could share our issues related to class structuring, lesson plans, choreography, and management issues. I know we have different concerns from at-home polers since we put in twice the work–for us and for our students. Plus, as our community continues to grow, it might be nice to have a section for the business end to help network our community and establish good rapport between us as businesswomen and teachers.

If this doesn't fit for the community at this point in time, feel free to disregard. I personally feel it's very important that we keep the community of studio owners and teachers tight knit to share the lessons we learn in order to combat some of the animosity that can build between "competing" studios. I've seen a few threads which reflect that animosity. I believe if we can talk about the ways we do things differently, it will alleviate that and foster respect for our different teaching and management philosophies. What works for studio management and structure clearly varies depending on location and demographic. I feel some of the "head-butting" we feel between studios comes from lack of understanding of how different the students we represent can be.

Plus, I'm sure those from the non-teaching community would appreciate having a resource for advice on how to offer pole classes in a savvy and responsible way. Thanks in advance for your time in reading and considering my post! Sorry if this is something you've thought of and already decided not to do.

I think that's a lovely idea. It would be nice to have other instructor's input on how they teach different moves to students as we all know that sometimes we have students who just don't seem to get it no matter what we say! I believe this concept was discussed at some point in the forum… I just don't remember what the outcome was. I also think it's important to continue to build rapport between different studios. I also think something along these lines may provide more global connections as well. I know quite a few instructors with Australia, but not so many around the world and I would like to! (admittedly, this is partially because I'm heading off overseas next year and want to meet as many polers as possible while I'm over there so I'm trying to make contacts now!)

Anyway, regardless of whether it occurs, I like the sentiment in your post poledanceromance https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
