I am recovering from a tendonitis injury from almost a month ago. What sucks is that is in my right (dominate) hand, I use my right hand for EVERYTHING! I took a week off of pole and totally babied my wrist (which totally got me out of lifting my 30lb son! LOL). When I got back to working out, I took it light – lighter weights, lighter reps etc. I also was light on my pole stuff too. It doesnt hurt that much when I pole (thank god!), and Ive also been stretching it muliple times daily. I work in an office where I am in front of the computer all day and I can only go so long using the mouse before my wrist acts up.

Should I be doing anything else besides stretching daily, to help recovery?

Ohmygosh, I could write this exact post. I baby my arm all the time because it just doesn’t take much to put me out of commission for weeks on end. SO frustrating! Only diff w/ me is I’m in front of the computer all day at work, all night at home, and either on my pole or holding my heavy pro camera (I’m also a photographer) so it pretty much hurts all.the.time. Sucks.

Sorry to say it but i’d rest it for longer than a week, maybe more like a month to six weeks! Tendonitis is inflammation of the tendon or tendon sheath, and unless it is fully rested and healed it will only reoccur. You could try deep transverse frictions but you would need a PT to show you how to do it. You will also need to look at some wrist strengthening exercises and take a good look at your pole technique/ wrist position as you need to find the cause of the inflammation.

Ive been taking it pretty light since it happened. I havent been working out as much b/c of it (and with my husband working late, its hard to squeeze in a workout). Its been feeling much better in the past week. Im still stretching it many times a day. It hurts the most if I use the mouse at my computer for a long period of time or when I do my daughters hair. The big issue im running into now is im taking antibiotics for my kidney infection (boo!) and reading the meds they gave me, they could cause tendonitis! REALLY! Im recovering and now theres a good chance I could get it back. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mad.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mad.gif

Be kind to your body and give it what it needs to heal https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Yep. Please be careful and take it easy. I have biceps tendonitis in my non-dominant arm. Rested it entirely–poled one armed–for 2 months. Had two cortisone shots and months of PT. Felt great for months. And now it’s back. And now I’m one-armed again. Until you let it heal totally AND correct what is causing it (which, clearly, I did NOT do), it won’t go away and could get much worse. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif
