Well rounded that’s me. I am 5’8″ and run at 150. Thick in booty, thighs, abs, and boobs. Invert and get a face full of boob. Nickname Cookie Monster (my booty eats shorts faster than he eats cookies). Love the way you are because if we all looked the same life would be so boring. Don’t let your size as you say stop you from any goal you wish to try. So go out and do it.

♡♡♡♡ I like Cookie Monster 🙂 That’s a beautiful pic of you. That’s how I want my photos to come out. I need that outfit to.

I’m 5’5″ and curvy. I stay right around 200lbs. Would I like it to be less? Sure. Am I ok with how it is? You bet! Pole has changed my life and really helped me be “ok in my own skin”. I’m also 52 years old and can’t imagine not doing this! I think one of the reasons why I love it so much is because I work really hard to get the moves and the strength…when I get something new I am absolutely over the moon about it. You will be too!! Welcome…and have fun!! Here’s a pic of me in the layback with my instructor standing! Anything is possible!!

Zuzulya, you are amazing.. I have not tried anyone standing on my legs. You are working it. Thanks for the boost in confidence ♡♡♡♡♡

Hiiiii
Look up loveracing25 on youtube, see where she started and where she is. She is such an inspiration, one of my favorite youtube polers. Just check around the site you will see women of all different body types here

Hey Nuffstyles… I love Loveracing25.. lol she is the reason I started learning pole. 🙂 I also like Crystylez

I am a plus sized poler as well!! it was hard for the year I was in a studio for all the small girls to get moves instantly and it would take me weeks and it was because I had a lot more to lift/invert and what not. but pole is my LIFE and I am so addicted, I don’t care what people think of me and not being thin. one day I would like to compete but that will be a few years down the road! welcome to the pole family!
-
Marinebarbie.. thanks so much. It’s so hard to stay motivated when all you can do is a couple of basic moves. I’m waiting on some more grip that I ordered from here and I think will help ad well to. Lol you would think the sexy shoe stores and lingerie places for strippers would carry grip but they don’t here. Lol for now I’m trying to invert because I noticed that what all the good moves call for.

Hey ambience!
Please, please, please be careful about inverting before you are strong enough!! I’ve seen more than enough people on this forum come back and say “I hurt my shoulder!” “I’ve injured my back!” “I can’t pole for more than six months because I’m in recovery!” And it’s all because they tried to invert too soon!
I realize that many of the more impressive moves appear to come from the basic invert, but there are SO many more things you can work on! Flow, expression, spins and climbing and laybacks all will help you gain strength, and they look so very beautiful! They are also all skills that are very useful after you learn to invert, as you may find yourself in the position to use them, inversions or not.I’ve been working up toward my basic invert again, and I’ll probably be working on it later in the year. I was barely strong enough the last time I got it, and it was always fairly sloppy and difficult. I wasn’t really strong enough to do anything once upside down in that position, either. I know now- if I’m better able to trust my leg grip, and if I can trust my arms more, and have a better tolerance for pain (which does come), I’ll be way better equipped to invert.

Runemist.. I love you lady 😉 I’m being careful. Lol I’m definitely working on climbing without shoes on. I gotta get back to being sore in all the pressure spots anyways. I hope they send my grip soon tho. It doesn’t say how long it takes from Veena. 🙂

I think it depends on how far away you are from the warehouse or wherever it’s held 😉
I do understand the wish to invert sooner than later. Many years of being almost “grounded” while pole dancing, and I just don’t want to wait anymore! But, I also don’t want to be hurt. Besides, I’m working on some good stuff, and I’m feeling stronger all the time! 🙂
What kind of pole do you have? I remember my stainless steel one being relatively slippy -

Haha, I’ve seen that diagram before. I was once working on a move (I don’t remember which one) and got about three bruises, on the outside of my thigh, all exactly the same size, shape, and distance apart, moving up to my hip. So weird!
I think that those points do change, depending on your strengths and weaknesses, and also the shape and composition of your body. I know that some people here have bruised LOTS, and I don’t bruise that easy.
My worse struggle was getting my current pole, and discovering that it can be a bit rough on the skin. My inner thighs BURNED so bad afterward! I learned my lesson, and haven’t done quite so many pole sits for a while. I’m getting back to it though.
Gotta say, too… I’ve smashed my boobs on the pole a couple times. I am NOT willing to go through that pain again! I’m going to be super careful when it comes to the corkscrew spin or tuck spin! -
Runemist.. girl stop making me smile.. Lol.. I definitely don’t want to smash anything on my pole. Lol I get bruises but I never noticed if it was directly like the chart. But I wonder if the bruise balm really works? Not sure what those spins are or if I can do them but Ima look them up and try it out.
-
I really like both of those spins, but I’m still working up to them. The boob-smash is usually what happens when I do the tuck spin, so… I guess I’m a little shy about that one! I do believe it’s on my “list,” though, of moves to get this year!
And the corkscrew spin is just amazing and I love it, I’m DEFINITELY not strong enough for it… but I’ll get there!!
I actually haven’t heard any follow-up on the bruise balm. 😉
