True Grit- Challenge Yourself
I was reading a book about the process of what motivates people. The idea was personal self improvement and willing desire vs. profitable gain. Both are important on different levels, but self motivated goals always led to better results.
To make this short, it seemed like smaller goals always led to more improvised sparks of creativity. Big picture goals, like "I'm going to own a company some day", as compared to "I'm going to learn my lower management trade and enjoy what I do".
So I'm going to challenge myself to do better than what I've been doing. Not because it's going to put more money in my pocket, but because I LOVE what I'm doing. It's a struggle to get motivated sometimes and it might not seem like I improve at all, but the small things do add up.
It would be cool to work on this with other people or a group. My small goal is help others when they ask for it, and work on my push ups.
