Tsunami grip?!?!?!?!?!
So does anyone know how to do this?? I saw a vid of someone doing a spin combonation where at one point she was only holding on with one hand…nothing else touching the pole… on spin mode and asked how the heck she did it…and she replied the "tsumani grip"….well what they heck is that???? I’ve tried numerous times to do a one handed spin on spin mode and that just isn’t happening!!! I’ve seen Felix do this too as an aerial transition…any ideas??? It looks so freaking cool!

I’ll have to do it when I get home…can’t get on YT from here…but it was chocolateforbrakie…who I believe is Empy…it was the first spin in her most recent video….
I’ve watched it over and over again and I don’t see anything different about the grip..but who knows…

I just read something sounding a lot like that comment recently and I think I may know exactly what Roxy’s talkin’ about! It’s from Miss Pole Dance New Zeland that competed at world this April.

Roxy, was it this one? I just love watching this lady’s videos! Her name is Amy Richardson Impey. The only part I noticed where she’s holding on with one hand is where she enters and exits a pretzel pose while aerial. The grip to me looks very similar to the top bracket of the twisted grip, but with no lower bracket. It’s very pretty! So when my body is ready for another practice, I’ll attempt to do this. I think the grip in question is at about 1:20-ish….it sure is sweet as hell looking!

ooooooh just watched it- nice! yeah that looks like she got into the twisted grip position after she kinda "swung" her body around so that her arm twisted.. looks hard. can’t try it though since i don’t spinny. it is possible to spin with one hand on the pole on spin… if you notice she wasnt spinning full speed.. you dont need tsunami grip to do that.. u just have to control the speed of the spin..
