For a number of weeks now, I’ve had a tweaked neck muscle. It’s on the left side, and it feels like it’s a deeper muscle. It hurts when I bend my head forward and to the left, and when I bend my head to the right, the muscles on the left feel very tight. I assumed that it’d go away on its own, but once it starts to feel better, mundane things like flipping my hair out of my face or turning my head to check for traffic makes it start hurting again. Any advice for a) how to make it stop hurting, and b) what to do to prevent it from doing this again?

if its been going on for several weeks you might want to get it checked out. you might have a pinched nerve. until then try alternating heat or ice to see if either one helps a little. probably heat. and if you can, take an anti-inflammatory like motrin, or aleve . those will only temporarily relieve pain until you find out what’s going on.
