Jessalynn Mediary is on that list too! Now its down to 2. I guess they are annoucing them as each one of them signs thier paperwork.
Gotta get my stuff together to see this in NYC!

Yeah, I kinda unofficially know another so it is really only down to 1.
-
I missed Leigh Ann.
I did not see Jessalynn announced on the page.

@ chem, she announced to her friends on fb and she commented on uspdf fb page
@ Charley, thanks so much! I just wish I could have recorded in the morning. I nurse every hour right now so by the end of the night I am zonked! Sorry you missed the deadline! Your style is beautiful. You should have just submitted your 2/21 dance-but unedited version of course. Wish you were on the east coast so we could pole jamhttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif There are a lot of things I'd do diff. Would have worn my sequin sparkle bottoms(but didn't come in mail til late thurs.) and would have worn heels for submission vid too. That's my true style-7+8 in heels and sparkle!
I can't wait to find out. There are so many talented ladies and its great to watch, learn from and be inspired by!

Ooooooooooooo, got that first USPDF email!!!!! Fingers crossed….
it wishes luck and says its being reviewed!!! This is as exciting as when I found out I was pregnant both times, except it was way more work and effort on my part lol!!!!

Organic Angel…did you just receive the e-mail? I haven't heard anything from them yet…After watching a ton of the videos…WOW I feel so inspired…and there are so many things I now wish I had done differently. I'm going to submit for APFC & actually record in a studio instead of my living room for one! This is my motivation to start working harder and to get much more fluid 🙂
Good luck to everyone submitted & I can't wait to see who gets picked!!!

don't worry about where it is that you perform for your vid. I was actually gonna re-record mine and do it at home b/c I am more relaxed at home. I had both kids with me and my baby was talking and wanting me. What is most important is your style is expressed and your fluidity. There are a ton of great vids where someone can do every trick in the book but can't transition. The USPDF looks for seamless transiton between floor and pole. I didn't put in all of my tricks b/c of this. I could have put in a ton, but felt it was more to dance. Just dance my routine. Connect with my pole and the music a bit. I am sure you are being too critical too. We always do that! Just breathe and know that you can only grow from here!

Charley, how do they work that with the pro status? Are they given preference? It's crazy to me that almost the entire competition is pros now, maybe all of them are, I don't know if Amy Guion is but I know she did amateur but don't know where she placed. It's gonna be fierce, how the hell do you judge Michelle stanek against alethea austin!?! My friend just moved to Brooklyn and said I can crash on his couch so I might actually go this year!!! If i go I am gonna be peeing myself with anticipation AHHHH. I didn't submit a video but I am surprised and impressed at all the girls who did, I think this year is the biggest turnout I've seen. I started following them right before Alethea took home her title in 2010.
I am working on submitting for the Great Midwest competition which I was accepted in last year and got 3rd place! Hoping I can get in again this year 🙂

The national competition has both Pro and Amateur categories. The names that were released yesterday and today were for the Pro competition. All of these competitors have qualified as a Pro competitor by either winning or placing at a USPDF national or regional competition in the past two years. (Or by having been granted wildcard pro status? Not as sure about that, maybe someone else on here knows) Only someone with Pro status can apply for the Pro competition. At least that is my understanding. I don't know how the Pro status worked for the very first ever national competition. Amy Guion was awarded pro status at last years amateur national competition because she placed second, tied with Nadia Sharif.
There are no requirements to submit for the Amateur competition other than the video, the fee, and the application information. No competition or performing experience needed. I imagine that the Amateur competitors will be released in about a week from the Wednesday submittal deadline. At least, that is how long it took for the Pro competitors to be announced. However, they have a LOT more videos to go through with the Amateur competition, so maybe it will take longer.
Its really too bad that USPDF did not hold the regional amateur competitions this year. It's making the pool of potential Pro competitors pretty small. And there were some amazing amateur videos posted that I think could hold their own in the Pro competition! In any case, I think its going to be a great comp to watch, Pro and Amateur.

I didn’t know that only the pros could apply for that one because how did they do it before that? This is the first one I know of where they are all pros. This is definitely the biggest turnout I’ve seen for amateur for sure!

The first USPDF, the one Jenyne won was an Amateur competition. So that year Jenyne, Alethea and Sarah became pro's. through the regionals those who placed 1,2,3 got pro status as well with the USPDF being able to if they wanted give up to 2 pro cards (likely 4&5 places) So after the first year they had exaclty 12 pro's I believe. 3 from National, 3-5 from both regionals. Jenyne wasn't able to compete again because she won the innaugural competition the year before.
So in 2010 (I think) was the 2nd USPDF competition which included a Pro and Amateur division. Mina Mortiezie won that one giving her pro status and I don't remember if 2nd place was awarded pro.
Last year was the third year and in Amatuer Michelle Stanke, Amy Guion and Nadia Sharif were all awarded pro status.
So If I'm correct I believe the complete current list of pros is:
Denise Richards
Faith Daniels
Jenyne Butterfly
Alethea Austin
Karol Helms
Gabrielle V.
Leigh Ann Reilly
Amber Richard
Estee Zakar
Zoraya Judd
Bryniynn Loomis
Allison Cox – Sipes
Shelly Lamb
Rebecca Starr
Heidi Coker
Natasha Wang
Lauren Goldstein
Takeila Fox
Amy Raven
Jessalyn Mediary
I *think* that's it but I feel like I am missing someone.

I feel like I read somewhere that Pro status is only good for 2 years? Which I guess would mean that Sara Cretul and Jenyne Butterfly's pro status is no longer valid? Which would be odd. Seems like there's no place for a person to compete within the USPDF system if they allow their Pro status to lapse. Ie… Jenyne or Sara in an amateur comp would definitely be sandbagging, and I doubt any of the pros would want to do that anyways. I only remembered reading about the two year thing bc Karol mentioned it recently in her youtube video. I guess they see it as a way to keep people competing, but there's only one competition to compete at and a lot of the pros dont compete. Charley's list was pretty long, but a lot of those women didn't even apply this year.
I kind of forgot but was Heidi Coker in the national pro competition last year? I know she was in a lot of competitions (ie Pole Art) but don't remember if she was Pro. I wonder why the USPDF site removes info about past competitions, including competitors. Its fun to look back on. 🙂
