yeah, I was at the very back of the "VIP" section and the ushers there were all over the girls next to me about them possibly recording. I think one poor girl was just checking her facebook inbetween dancers but the usher was eyeballing her pretty hard!

wow, that is really too bad… and i’m sure it will be a while before we can see a DVD for sale… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif

i was fortunate enough to see jenyne perform at the uspdf national championships earlier this year… and she is just so graceful and lithe, it’s amazing when you realize how tiny she is, because she seems so big on stage. i’m looking forward to the next national championships in march (taking place less than 10 blocks from my apartment!) especially now that they have amateur and pro divisions.

i wish i could have seen her at the east coast regionals. with the close-knit community that has sprung up aroudn pole dancing, it’s amazing how quickly it is moving towards true acrobatics… new super advanced tricks seem to debut at every major pole event… it’s really exciting how quickly the sport and athleticism are progressing!

yay, ill be at nationals on march 19th in NY! see ya there!

Karol, it was such a pleasure watching you dance this weekend. Your moves are so fluid and graceful, you legs are sooooooo freakin long, and you look like you were born to rock the pole! I’ve so appreciated your youtube vids and how helpful you are in sharing moves with everyone (superman drop tutorial was awesome). You are a beautiful inspiration and I wish you a long, long future of success in the industry. If you ever travel to teach workshops, I could talk to my boss at http://teasefitnessandapparel.com/ to see if we could get something set up. The studio is about 25 min North of Baltimore straight up 95.

You know, this whole weekend was so special, meeting up with all these great girls from StudioVeena (Carrie, Sissy, Roxy), watching the show, looking at the audience filled with fans of all ages, taking workshops, watching you win…it was all so f-ing great!!!. I long for the day when pole dancing is accepted as a legitimate sport and form of dance. In some odd way, your victory was such a triumph for all of us who love to dance. Thanks so much for taking things further, inventing moves, and sharing your skill. Keep it up & CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

    Karol,

Just talked to the owner of Tease and she is planning to contact you to set something up. I saw your # listed earlier in this thread and showed it to her. Her name is Pam Danlag and she owns Tease
http://teasefitnessandapparel.com/ She said something about Dec though, probably to give pple enough time to find out about it and sign up. Hope you consider it!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

    Karol and Angel-
I’d really be down for a trip to Baltimore for class or jam or whatever with yall! Sounds like fun! We should all try to get together for things! For scheduling (at least mine!) it might be easier either late Nov. or early Jan b/c December in my world gets kinda hectic with the holiday and family and stepkids and stuff. My guess is that if you guys decide to do it in Dec I’d probably find a way to go anyway!

You guys could both stay at my house if you wanted. I have two extra bedrooms and 3 poles in my little pole studio!! I live about 3 minutes from Tease. Sissy, I mapquested Odenton and it’s about 40 miles or 50 min from Tease. But, I’m getting ahead of myself!! Let’s get this thing planned first!

Karol, you may have to give Pam suggestions about what exactly you want to do. She’s never had a pole jam or any sort of workshop in the two years that I’ve been there. From what I’ve heard, "beginner" classes never sell well with pro dancers b/c the newbies are too intimidated and/or they have no idea who the pros are! I know that the Jenyne Butterfly beginner class this weekend in Philly is a long way from being full, but the intermed/adv is sold out (I’m going, yay!).

I did do a 4 hour workshop at Xpose with Sally Ann Giles and it went well but I didn’t get any one-on-one time with Sally. There were 40 girls there and we paid 45 each and that included a small lunch. We shared poles with one other girl. She taught us two advanced spins, but she was spread VERY thin as there was one of her and 40 of us! After that we ate and after lunch she divided the room into 3 parts – beginner, interm, and advanced. She gave us advanced girls photos of moves and we tried them out and tried to help eachother into them. I don’t know if you would want to do that sort of format but I thought I’d share that experience to give you something to go off of.

Personally, I would prefer separate workshops with smaller class size divided by levels. I’d rather pay more but get more instructor time.

Oh, and I do have one video uploaded here that was filmed in the studio so you can see it. There are 16 poles and they all have spinning option.

OK, can’t wait for this all to unfold!!! Pam better call you ASAP!!!
