Naamah Trone (our very own Roxy-pink!)
I totally forgot who the other one was. -
Videos and pics weren’t allowed. I am under the assumption video is strictly prohibited because of music licensing.
I am going to strap on my costume and film what my performance would have been later. I actually had to make some last minute changes (like half the routine) based on the poles – I’m not such a good spinner and those poles had crazy spin https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_compress.gif
I hope everyone else will tape their routines too because I didn’t get to anyone https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I was too scared, lol!
It was a great experience!
CONGRATS to Rebecca, Heidi, Allison, Winter and Roxy for taking top 5!!!!! I am so happy for you guys. It was so good to meet you all and share the stage with your greatness https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Yep, how many times did they mention that thier lawyers where there?
-
LOL! That host was awesome. It cracked me up when she said USPDF lawyers were present and they’d have you arrested. Although their lawyers weren’t there, the USPDF videographer was there and I bet they’ll end up posting all the videos on their website eventually like they just started doing for previous events.
By the way, I can believe I didn’t have a chance to meet my Veener peeps! I swirled in just before the competition started and had to leave the theater with suitcase in tow to hop on the train back to NYC. I would’ve loved to have met you!

I was so seriously disappointed that I couldnt record anything! I only wanted it for personal use https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
All the ladies did absolutely amazing! Does anyone know anything about Andrea Mickels? Her routine really stuck out in my mind and I’d like to see more of her.
-
Congrats to everyone!! I can’t wait until they get the routines up.
I’m especially proud of Winter! She’s a great girl and has a son about the same age as my daughter. Way to put Dallas on the map! Way to go, polin’ mama’s!!

OMG yes! Hello spatchcock!!! I loved both of Allison’s routines, she really tells a story in hers! When I saw Charley’s optional – I was like ‘Hello Hot Stuff!". I loved Roxy’s too, when she elbow mounted I was like ‘oh hells yeah!;. I totally felt for Melanie after her compuslory, and I would of not competed too.
Lots of great talent that night!

@charley…did you not get a chance to practice on the poles beforehand so you could assess the spinning poles?
-
@Anngie We did have time to try the poles before the show and I went through my spin sequence a handfull of times and I just didn’t feel stable or comfortable with the amount of spin so I decided to not use the spin. I changed my poles at the last second and tried to hard to mentally prepare a new routine but I ended up forgetting the last minute changes and freestyled. The stress of all of this caused me not to think about my angles so I think my tricks got really lost because you couldn’t see them. Oh well…live and learn I should work on spin more.

I had so much fun meeting everyone there – congrats to everyone who competed! It takes a lot of guts to get out there – way more than I will ever have! And Charley – your "freestyle" was gorgeous and I had no idea until you told me. I really enjoyed meeting you finally! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
