Hi Jillian
I actually just went online and bought my tickets from the Symphony Space website like a mortal. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif The package I bought was for book two workshops and get a third at a discount.Last year USPDF did offer a group rate at a hotel in NYC. They did the same in LA for the west coast this Fall. They haven’t announced it yet. I’d wait until they do, then take a look at other hotels in the same area and see if their pricing beats it. Earlier in this thread amyxshi and I were talking about how the theater is kinda WAAAAY away from anything else in Manhattan, so you may well choose to stay more centrally located.
Hope that helps! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif -
that it does =) thanks love!…however I still have no idea how to find out when/where my tickets and all that jazz are…do they have the tickets at symphony, like an E Ticket for a flight?…i never actually HAVE a paper ticket until i show up or what? hmmmm if any members have bought through USPDF and know, lemme know. I got time haha.
and yeah im defiantly gonna stay at w/e hotel is reserved for USPDF peeps…a bunch of polers shacked up in a hotel together…this should be amazinge https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

do all the workshops take place in the same studio?

do all the workshops take place in the same studio?
USPDF hasn’t announced yet where their official workshops will be. Last year they were all in the same place, which was studio space they rented in a larger facility, very close to Times Square. NYPD is really small so not optimal.
The Body and Pole workshops will be at their studio, which I believe is in the SoHo area. -
I received my tickets from Symphony Space earlier last week!! I booked workshops at Body and Pole (Jenyne -Saturday, Alethea – Saturday and Leigh Ann – Sunday) and can’t wait to see Lian’s new studio!! Still haven’t booked my flight yet, but that’s next!! Anyone else taking the Body and Pole Workshops?
-
I’m a little worried about taking some of the workshops, at both NYPD and Body and Pole. I’ve been poling on and off for almost 2 years, but I would be nervous to take a workshop with these ladies. Also, I just started inverting. For anyone that attended workshops last year, were you nervous?
-
To put your mind at ease i had the same concern…. I’ve only been poling 7 months, totally self taught and with these teachers i was nervous thinking "what?? are we gonna be learning holly drops and death lays!?" haha so i wrote Karol and asked her if she thought my skill level was okay to take a workshop with her and not be in over my head and she said absolutely…she said that most likely wouldn’t be too many SUPER advance people in the class…however worst case scenario i have some great skilled girls all around me to give me pointers =) hope that helps
OO! also if you are not a USPDF member you cant see the list of classes, but a bit up in this thread (i think page 22 https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif ) i posted the workshop schedule for USPDF and they have the skill level next to the class, there are beginner-intermediate classes, tho not many, and i believe Body and Pole has floor work and flexy classes for all levels as well…i just wasn’t sure what my skill level was b/c I had never been to a studio with a teacher and whatnot who could tell me so that’s why I asked. Karol told me I would be at Inter-advance if that helps anymore

Thanks for your advice, TrophyWife! I bit the bullet and decided to take Jenyne Butterfly’s workshop at Body & Pole for that Saturday (duh duh duhhhhhhhh!!!!!). One of my pole dance classmates from the Atlanta studio I used to go to wanted to sign up for a workshop and asked for my recommendation. I told her that any one would be fine with me, and she tells me that she’s going for Jenyne!
I tried to initially play it safe and look into Wendy’s workshop, but being that I’m one of Wendy’s students at NYPD and Im in her int/adv Climb & Invert class, she most likely would have wondered why I signed up for her workshop, LOL.
I’m excited because I was so impressed with Jenyne’s performance last year. She was so amazing to watch and awe-inspiring. I tried to be a hater because I wanted one of my NYPD instructors to win, but she deserves major props. I can’t wait until the competition!
-
Sandy – I’ll be in that workshop with you! I signed up for Jenyne and Alethea on Saturday and Leigh Ann on Sunday @ Body and Pole. I took Jenyne’s workshop last March at NYPD and she was awesome!! She came in and laid out all of these professional photos of her doing things on the pole and told us if we saw anything we wanted to learn, to ask. She also came around and asked what we were working on, and what we needed help with. She is soooo sweet and humble and patient!! She wants to see you succeed. No one should be intimidated by her because she is SO NICE!! Unless the skill level is specified, I wouldn’t worry about it because Jenyne will work with people at all levels. Anyway, looking forward to meeting some of you in March!

ooo nice, I’m glad you had such a great experience last year! She always seems…well exactly as you described…whenever i see her in a video or interview. the workshops you’re taking on saturday are at B&P too? or are they the ones through USPDF?
