@Little C – Neither Rebecca Starr nor Natasha Wang were guaranteed a spot in the National Comp this year just because they won at the Regional Comps. USPDF had to change the rules this time, and EVERY PRO had to resubmit a video in order to be considered. There were 18 "Pros" but only 12 spots available, so USPDF sent us all an email stating if we wanted to compete at Nationals, we ALL had to resubmit a video. As the pool of Pros grows, USPDF said they will hold more competitions since they are only accepting 12 competitors in the National Comp. Just wanted to clear that up….Can't wait to see everyone there!!
-
Correction, there are 22 USPDF PROS:
Leigh Ann Reilly
Karol Helms
Estee Zakar
Zoraya Judd
Takeila Fox
Faith Daniels
Brynlnn Lewis
Gabrielle Valliere
Jessalynn Mediary
Amber Richard
Sarah Cretul
Lauren Goldstein
Denise Brown
Alethea Austin (can't compete again because she won last year)
Jenyne Butterfly
New Pros:
Mina Mortezai (winner of amateur competition)
Rebecca Starr
Heidi Coker
Shelly Lamb
Natasha Wang
Amy Raven
Allison Cox
With all of the ladies eligible to compete at Nationals, USPDF changed the rules and made EVERYONE have to resubmit in order to be considered for the comp in April….
-
Thanks Allison for clear that up! Isn’t Lian Tal a pro also?
-
Rena: Lian Tal is NOT a pro. She competed in the first USPDF comp back in 2009, but unfortunately fell during her optional round and did not place.

I just got my tickets yesterday! Row C!! I have an extra one if anyone wants it, let me know!
-
Angel, how are you getting up there? I really dont want to travel alone (but hey if I braved the DC metro on my own I should be cool right? lol), so im looking for people to go up with.
-
There is a hotel literally across the street from symphony space called hotel newton, I think. We stayed there last year and it was awesome being so close. It is kinda crappy though so looking for ideas on where to stay that's a bit nicer?? thoughts?
And Rena, the seating chart online is stupid… but if you zoom in really close they actually show little people sitting in the chairs so you can tell which way is front. The stage is towards the top of the page.

YEA! I just confirmed my NYC trip! Are we going to have a Veener party?? Will we agree to wear a certain color, like we did at USPDF West, so we can identify each other? I'll be staying with my brother in Brooklyn, but he said Symphony Space is an easy train ride from his digs.
-
I'm in too, ladies! I'd love to schedule some kind of a get together.
